“Are you insane?” I scream. “Are you absolutely out of your mind? No, I’m not going to marry

you!”

Turning, he tackles me to the bed and slides his hand around my throat, curving it slightly. It’s not

enough to cut off my air, but it is enough to force me to quiet down.

“You listen to me, minx. You are more than entitled to be upset with me. However, as your

Dominant, you will speak to me with far more respect than this. I was hoping to have a nice, pleasant

day with you while the maids did their job. Please don’t make me have to punish you before we go.”

“I-I…” He’s right about the respect, but for him to hire someone is just beyond unreasonable.

“Can you have them come back later at least? I have to clean first.”

Loosening his hand, he laughs as he continues getting dressed. “Then that would negate them

submissive space, but right now, it’s far too hard. “It’s not just about the membership. They need me.”

“Oh really? They do? What do you think all of those Dominants you work on would say if they

knew you were pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion, not taking care of yourself or your

apartment?”

Shame floods my cheeks and I stare down at the rumpled comforter, tears burning my eyes. “They

wouldn’t like it.”

“No. They wouldn’t. Since you’re refusing to give up any of the things that take so much out of

you, the only other thing I have to offer is a maid service. You have to meet me in the middle

somewhere or it’s not a negotiation. My terms are either cut back at work and let me help with some

bills, give up working at Black Light and let me take over your membership, or allow the maids.”

Between all the options, the maids are the least expensive. “Fine,” I grind out, my emotions in a
