I close my eyes. This is it. This is where a sane person would back away slowly. Where reason should prevail. Where I should remember that I like quiet and predictability and not being perceived.

Instead, I picture Benji at a party full of strangers, laughing, alive, looking for me in a crowd. Wearing something that shows off his tight body and delicious butt. And I realize—with a mix of dread and something dangerously like excitement—that I am absolutely going.

A pirate. A sexy pirate.

I set the phone down.

"I’ve lost my mind," I tell the empty room.

The room does not disagree.

Fall is finally here, and Morningwood is entering its coziest, crispiest, most stimulating season yet. Cooler temperatures, longer nights, and plenty of opportunities to come together as a community—sometimes closer than expected.

Locktober Is Upon Us

In honor of fall safety and fresh starts, Morningwood will be changing out all community locks this month.

Please turn in your keys to receive shiny new replacements.

We recommend prompt compliance—no one likes to be locked out when things are heating up.

No-Nut November (A Reminder)

As leaves fall and yards fill up, please remember to clear pinecones and acorns from your lawns.
