DAKOTA
I didn’t wake up next to Logan this morning, so when I sat up against the headboard I chewed the inside of my cheek, glancing around.
Part of me feared he might be upset with me for invading his space last night. I knew my relationship with them was different—I had to sign a contract goddammit—so I wasn’t sure if we could do things like cuddling and spending the night together.
Brushing away those thoughts for now, I made his bed before dragging my legs to my bedroom. I slipped into my bathroom before making my way back downstairs.
I was in desperate need of coffee. And some warm clothes.
The kitchen was empty when I entered.
I found everything I needed, and made the most delicious cup of coffee I ever had. The first sip I took spread warmth through my body and I sighed in relief. I heard Kaden’s voice first. “Don’t be a sore loser.”
“Then don’t cheat,” Chase snapped back.
Their faint chatter in the other room grew louder and when I turned around, my eyes landed on both of them entering the kitchen.Shirtless. Andbothglistening in sweat. My jaw dropped but thankfully, the mug in my hands did an excellent job of hiding it.
“Well, good morning,” I couldn’t help but grin, shifting my eyes between the two of them. Abs. There were abs everywhere. There were so many that I lost count.
“Good morning, Dakota,” Chase simply shook his head at me.
“Morning,” Kaden muttered.
“I’m liking my mornings here already,” I admitted, sipping some of my coffee and I watched Kaden head straight for the fridge to grab some water.
“Don’t get used to it,” Chase teased, walking over to kiss my temple before grabbing some water himself.
“Oh, come on,” I dropped my shoulders, looking between the two of them. “A girl’s gotta eat.”Both of them for breakfast? Gladly.
Their faces both found confusion, clearly not understanding me. Cave men. Right. “Admire,” I added in a whisper.
“Chase stop being a sore loser so that Dakota can eat,” Kaden almost humorously said—obviously making fun of me—and Chase scoffed with a smile.
“Chase is being a sore loser again?” Logan mused entering the kitchen. He was, thankfully, also shirtless and glistening in water droplets with a towel wrapped around his waist.
My eyes dropped down his perfectly defined abs, then back up to his face.A three-course meal, I have here right in front of me, don’t I?
Logan lifted his cell-phone, and the nameMadelinewas plastered on his screen. He was on a phone call but had himself muted.
I heard Chase’s irritable groan and Kaden simply scoffed in amusement.
Chase was blunt. “No.”
“I can’t take another second of this,” Logan shot back, tossing his cellphone on the countertop. I could hearMadeline’shigh-pitched voice as she spoke—or went off on a rant, rather.
I slightly frowned. “Who’s Madeline?”
Logan dropped his eyes to me. “Ask Chase.”
I shifted my confused eyes to Chase and he looked like her name alone sucked the life out of him.
His answer was vague. “No one important.”
“She’s one of the professors on campus who’s in love with Chase,” Kaden blurted out and my eyes grew wide.
Chase’s eyes shot daggers at Kaden and I slowly nodded.
“Right…” I trailed off in confusion.
