But that’s okay, because I’m not changing my mind, and I don’t care how many times I have to remind her of that.
“I’m so much more than okay, Quinn,” I whisper, kissing her again. “I want this so much, babe.”
“Me too,” she whispers, her eyes filling with tears.
“Good,” I say. “So are we telling everyone?” I ask, not sure I’m going to be able to keep it a secret anyway.
“It’s really early,” she says, glancing down at the test again. “But...”
“But...” I prompt.
She laughs. “But I know you’re not going to be able to keep it a secret, are you?”
Grinning, I kiss her again. “Nope, probably not. I’m excited, babe. I want everyone to know.”
Quinn rolls her eyes, but I know she’s only playing. “Okay, fine, if you can’t keep your mouth shut, then...”
Letting out a whoop, I grab her hand and practically drag her outside to where everyone is working on our deck. Lacey and Jonah are here now too, and I don’t miss the laugh Jonah lets out when he sees me in this ridiculous costume.
“Guys—” I start, only to get cut off.
“Oh my god, that looks perfect!” Daisy shouts, clapping her hands together.
“Of course it does,” I reply. “But that’s not what I was going to say.”
“What?” Daisy says. “Don’t even try to get out of this, Kai Olsen. A bet’s a?—”
“Quinn’s pregnant!” I shout, cutting her off this time.
Daisy lets out a loud squeal as she comes running over to hug my girl. My brother grins, shaking his head as he also joins us, pulling me into a hug.
“Congrats, bro,” he says. “Really happy for you guys.”
“Thanks,” I say as he lets go and hugs Quinn, Daisy now wrapping her arms around me.
Eli, Jonah and Lacey also come over with their congrats, Eli unable to resist ribbing me about becoming even more tied down now.
“Fuck off, it’s exactly where I want to be,” I say, giving him a friendly punch on the shoulder. “Maybe you should try it.”
“No way, man, I like my life exactly as it is,” he replies.
“You sure about that?”
Eli laughs, glancing over at Lacey and Jonah, who are signing to each other, once again back in their own little bubble. “Reckon those two have more of a chance than me,” he says, a grin on his face.
Laughing, I hold my hand out to my former roommate. “Oh yeah? Wanna make a bet?”
