Moments later her walls clamp around me as her body shakes as she unloads on me as I unload into her.

I pull her in close breathing hard into her mouth as she does the same to me.

“I’m not gonna lie. I love that I got off so fast and I got you off just as quickly.”

“You know what I love?”

“What’s that?”

“You. My perfect Paddy’s Day Parade partner and more importantly my perfect pairing…for life.”

“Always.”

“And forever.”

EXTENDED EPILOGUE

Marilyn

Five years later

I waive Aoibhin’s hand at the parade as it crosses O’Connell Bridge and makes it way toward us on Westmoreland Street.

Aoibhin is our two-year-old that I’m holding in my arms while Danny holds Oisin, our four-year-old. And yes, Danny was right…I got pregnant on the first try, or at least one of those first few times.

It’s been an incredible five years. Danny is still the police captain, but he always makes so much time for our family. He sold his old place and we moved into a bigger place closer to my parents, where Danny and my dad are teaching Oisin how to play basketball so one day soon he can, “kick our butts,” they like to joke. It’s so cute to see them both out there helping him try and shoot the ball up to the hoop as he wears his Boston Celtics jersey.

I am able to work from home full-time, which is pretty cool…and it also made coming to Dublin for this year’s parade that much easier. I wouldn’t miss it for the world, especially since I got some jobs from international companies with ties back to Boston. I planned a big party for last night with a group of female entrepreneurs that was so much fun, and a huge hit to boot.

But the biggest “hit” of my life is my family. I can’t believe how lucky I got. And sometimes I can’t believe Danny still has an insatiable appetite for me despite my mom bod. I spend so much time sitting at a computer that it’s wrecking my health, despite chasing our kids around all the time.

Danny on the other hand barely interacts with technology, but he sure does interact with the gym he put in our basement. I swear I don’t know how he’s so disciplined in lifting those heavy weights every single day, but boy am I ever glad he does.

The man takes no supplements or anything like that. He likes to say, “The hardest thing I put in my body is bacon and eggs.” And apparently all that cholesterol and saturated fat have his testosterone levels sky high because he’s always trying to put something in me.

And of course I never think of telling him no because I want it just as much as he does, if not more…especially as I creep closer to thirty. My desire is off the charts and he’s able to keep me more than satisfied…in every way, just like he satisfies my every desire, even the ones I don’t even know I have.

“Do you think Ireland recognizes marriages in the States?”

I turn, still waving Aoibhin’s hand at the parade procession. “I’m sure they do, but I know you’re not letting Aoibhin date until she’s what…thirty?”

“How old do you have to be to qualify for social security?”

“Very funny.” I pause. “Why the wedding question?”

“We’ve got a couple more days here…the kids are here. Let’s do it again.”

“Get married?”

“Renew our vows. I want to show you just how much I’d marry you all over again. Heck if we could get an official to come to the house we could do it every morning to start our day out perfectly.”

“Are you getting married again?” Oisin asks.

“What do you think, bud?”

He smiles. “Yeaaaaah. I think it will be fun. Can I watch?”

“You don’t get to watch, little man. You get to be in it.”

“I can be in it?”

“You’re in our lives forever and in every way,” Danny says. “Every way…including getting married again tomorrow.”

“Yay!” he yells.

Out of nowhere I get emotional and I feel a tear welling up.

“What’s wrong?”

“Absolutely nothing. I just imagined him dressed up all nice just like his dad.”

“And we’ll get you and Aoibhin matching dresses.”

“Dress,” Aoibhin says.

“Yep. You and mommy are getting dressed up tomorrow. Matching.”

She smiles and claps her hands, even as I’m still holding one of her hands waving it. But the waiving stops and I adjust my grip so I’m holding her with one arm.

Danny does the same with Oisin and quickly wraps his free hand around me as I do the same with him…or at least as much as I can with my big ol’ muscular husband.

I press my cheek against his and we turn slightly to watch the parade, but our view is blocked because the kids, who we’re still holding, are now close enough that they can hug each other too.
