Page 37 of The Cruelest Undead
Someone was playing a game, and a dangerous one at that. This was going to destroy the fabric of time and space. They were about to destroy the world.
“Mon Amour…”
She pointed at Rinnon.
“He can’t go back inside, and Flynn can’t be pulled out. We need to solve this. We have relics to find, and Rinnon can’t be driving that bus. You know how he is.”
“HEY! That didn’t sound complimentary, Little One. Maybe don’t make me sound like I’m a hinderance. I am adequate.”
She stared at him.
That one look shut Rinnon up.
FAST.
Because they needed a solution, Jacques reached for his mate.
Flynn, Mon Amour, please talk to me. You’re scaring our mate. She’s worried about you.
Nothing.
The lights were on, but no one was home.
Well, he was home, but he was hiding in a small closet alone in a‘house’they couldn’t access.
I’m working on this. I know this damages you, and I’m sorry, Mon Amour. Please.
There was only one reply.
You have no idea.
Oh, he did. If his parents popped into his lair, he’d be off balance too. Jacques knew his mate was struggling and that said a lot.
Flynn was damn strong when it came to things, and that’s why he’d been picked to be Rinnon’s vessel.
I love you, Flynn. Come out so we can help you.
Again, silence.
Jacques focused on Jolie, and there was one last thing he could do to coax the man out.
It was a dirty trick, but it would most definitely work. If anything, they knew the man.
“Want to have sex?” he asked Jolie.
She blinked.
“Uh, what? Now? We’re in the middle of something,” she said, horrified that he couldn’t read the room and see that this was the worst possible moment.
Death being Death, he blocked everyone else’s mind but hers, and whispered into it.
Do you think Flynn won’t want to come out and have sex? He will want to participate, and then, we can get him to talk to us.
Jolie knew he was onto something with that plan.
Oh, Death was tricky.
And likely horny.
