ButKlaushad taken it in stride, and he hadn’t gotten mad at her for being loud either, which was nice.Nothingspoiled sex like someone hissing,“Shhhh!”in your ear at the moment of climax,Kellithought.
Thebedroom, with its enormous bed, seemed nice and cozy.Therewas a fireplace in here too and the flickering flames were filling the room with a golden glow.Itexuded a warm, sweet scent almost like cinnamon and some other spice she couldn’t name, though she liked it a lot.
“Hmm, it’s nice in here,”Kelliremarked, going to the closet at the far end of the room.“Let’ssee if there’s anything in here for us…”
Insideshe noticed that the closet smelled sweetly of cedar wood, which she loved.Andsure enough, hanging on the rack were two sets of clothing that were clearly meant for herself andKlaus.
“Ithink these are yours,” she said, handing him the hanger with a pair of long, satin pajama pants.“AndIguess these are mine.”
Shefrowned as she looked at what the cabin had provided.Itwas a lacy black silk negligee and a silk robe to go with it.Bothof them were really short though—Kelliestimated they wouldn’t go past mid-thigh on her.Andthe lacy top of the negligee was practically see-through.Still, after what she andKlaushad just done in the shower, she supposed it didn’t matter if he could see her nipples peaking through the lace.
Theychanged quickly and left the damp towels in a hamperKellifound in the corner—which she could have sworn wasn’t there a minute ago.
“Mmm, you look good in that little outfit,”Klausmurmured, looking her up and down.
Kellifelt a glow of satisfaction as she brushed her damp hair over one shoulder.
“Youdon’t look half bad yourself,” she remarked.Infact, he looked mouthwatering.Thesatin sleep trousers rode low on his hips, showing his muscular abs and broad, bare chest to perfection.Kellistill couldn’t believe that she’d touched him there—washed him there and everywhere else for that matter.Hernipples felt tight just thinking about it—almost as though she hadn’t come at all.
Itwas on the tip of her tongue to suggest that they just go to bed together…but she wasn’t sure howKlauswould feel about that.Afterall, he had mentioned earlier that they reallyshouldn’tbe getting together because they were coworkers.Andthey had only done what they had in the bathroom so the cabin would let them out of the shower stall.
Soshe swallowed the impulse.Maybesomething would happen later.Fornow, it was important to keep things light.
“Hey, how about a movie night?”she asked him.“There’sa screen in the living room—Iwonder if they have anything decent to watch?”
“Dependson if theQuestarionshave entertainment vids or not,Iguess,”Klaussaid.“Butsure, if they have some,I’min.”
“Good!Butfirst, we should look in the kitchen for a snack,”Kellisaid.
Helaughed.
“Hey—didn’t we just have gingerbread and ice cream and hot chocolate not that long ago?”
“Yes, but that was a while ago,”Kellipointed out.“Besides, sexy times in the shower make me hungry.”
Hisgolden eyes were suddenly half-lidded and a rumble of desire rose in his deep chest.
“Mmm, baby.Youand me both,” he growled.
Kelliwas almost sure he was going to kiss her again—and she wouldn’t have tried to stop him.Butinstead, he took her by the hand and drew her out of the bedroom.
“Comeon—let’s see what they have,” he said.

KLAUS
Klauscouldn’t believe how comfortable he still felt around the diminutive little human.Hehad expected to feel guilty and awkward after their sexual encounter was over.Instead, he felt warm and relaxed and happy, trulyhappyfor the first time in…how long?
Years,he thought.It’sbeen years sinceIfelt this good.NotsinceMirandadied.
Buthe didn’t want to think about that.Hestill loved his dead wife and honored her memory, but now wasn’t the time to brood about her.Hefound that he wanted to be present in the here and now and take pleasure in this strange but enjoyable experience of being snowed in the cabin withKelli.
Thefood prep was at the very back of the house and it looked like a typical human kitchen toKlaus.Therewas a free-standing oven and stove, a refrigerator, and a row of cabinets lined up along the wall.
Butthough the set-up was typical, there was something strange about the kitchen.Hanging, seemingly in midair, above each cabinet and also above the stove and the refrigerator, was a sprig of mistletoe.
Kellididn’t seem to notice this at first—maybe because the sprigs of mistletoe were high above her head and she was immediately focused on the oven.
