“You sure?”

“Yeah, I’m sure.”

“We can watch some HGTV if you want. Maybe catch a hot design tip or two…” Her voice trails off, lilting up with hope, but I can’t humor her right now.

“Maybe tomorrow night. I’m beat.” I roll over, my back to the pillow wall—and her.

“Okay.” She cuts the lights and darkness fills the apartment. Silence stretches between us, my fingertips still tingling from touching her earlier.

Scrunching my eyes shut tight, I focus on my breathing, falling into a fitful sleep.

I wake up sometime in the night, soft white moonlight filtering through the window. Turning my head, I bump noses with Trix, her exhale light on my cheek.

So much for the pillow wall.

Every single pillow between us is tossed aside, several of them now lying on the floor. Trix’s arm snakes across my chest, one leg winding over and around me like a kudzu vine. Her hips press tight against my thigh, warmth radiating from her body. She wriggles against me and I have an instant boner.

At this rate, I’m going to die from perpetual blue balls.

I try to loosen her grip and ease away from her, but she only clings to me tighter.

Fine.Two can tango.

My left hand slides down, cupping her ass cheek. I squeeze a little and she shimmies against my palm.

She feels like heaven, all smooth skin and soft curves smashed up against me.

And I’m probably going straight to hell for this.

Sighing against my neck, she splays her hand on my upper arm and relaxes into me.

Fuck my life.

Of all the women in the universe, the one sharing my bed in my apartment is in the absolutely-do-not-fuck-with category.

Counting sheep, I finally drift off to sleep with Trix squarely in my arms.

No one has to know about this. Especially not Danny.

It’s not my fault his sister turned into a walking, talking seductress, tempting me even in her sleep.

“Get up, Wild. Big day ahead of us.” Trix’s voice cuts into my dreams as she shakes me awake by the shoulder.

“What time is it?” I mutter, weak sunlight slanting through the window.

“A little before seven. I want to get the demo done and I need to leave at noon to go order the tile.”

“You’re a terrible boss.” I throw my arm over my eyes, shielding myself from the light.

“And I don’t appreciate you tearing down the pillow wall last night.”

At that accusation, I sit up. “Excuse me? No, ma’am. That’s not what happened at all. I woke up and you were all over me like a damn python trying to choke the life out of me.”

Her cheeks blush a bright shade of pink, her neck flushing. “Me? Never.” She puffs out a breath, her bangs feathering up, then down again.

“Yeah, you.” I fold my arms over my chest. “I’m lucky to be alive, honestly.”

“You’re so dramatic, Wild.” She tosses her hair back. “C’mon, let’s get going. I already made coffee.” She gestures at the steaming pot on the counter, the scent of dark roast hitting my nostrils.
