“Summer. Except for Christmas. I love Christmas.” She sighed a happy sigh, a slow smile spreading across her face.

“Hey, we didn’t get to favorite holiday yet, you’re jumping the gun,” I said, teasing her.

“Sorry. What about you? Season and holiday?”

“Winter. And Christmas.”

“At least we both agree on the holiday,” she said, a soft blush coloring her cheeks. “Books or movies?”

“Movies.”

“Books. Land or water?”

“Land.”

I stacked my plate on hers, then moved closer to her on the couch, wanting to touch more of her body. Draping my arm around her, I lightly caressed her shoulder. She relaxed into me, leaned her back against my chest.

“Water. Makes sense, since I like the beach and you like the mountains. Bath or shower?” she asked, glancing up at me.

“Shower.”

“Figures. I like baths. Long ones, with lots of bubbles and wine.”

“I would have called that,” I said, rubbing my hand on her upper thigh.

“Chocolate or vanilla?” she asked, tracing lazy figure eights on my leg.

“Both. Either.”

“Good, another thing we have in common,” she said, grinning.

“Important question here.” She locked her marine eyes on mine, gazed up at me from under lowered lashes. “Morning sex or night sex?”

I grinned. “I’m equal opportunity. It’s good anytime.”

“I figured you’d say that.” She smiled as she pressed her warm body up against me, placing a soft kiss on my lips.

“Mmm,” I murmured. “Round two?”

She opened her mouth to mine, which I read as a solid ‘yes.’ Wrapping my arms around her, I lifted her off the couch and carried her to the bedroom. It was going to be a long night in the best possible way. I’d deal with the emotional bullshit later.

The next morning dawned and I found myself in Delaney’s bed, her warm, supple body curled up tight against me.

I didn’t hate it.

“Mmmm,” she murmured into my arm.

“Morning.” My finger traced the soft lines of her body where it peeked out from under the white sheet.

“What time is it?”

“Early.”

“I thought you weren’t a morning person?”

“I’m not. But sleep seems like a waste when I’m in bed with such a beautiful woman.” I caressed the smooth skin of her bottom.
