He took my shoulders and spun me. “Turn around.”

I shivered as I waited breathlessly. What would come next? Had I gone too far? He’d successfully pushed my buttons.

A moment later, he ran the bar of soap over my shoulders and back. “I take back the part about lacking spontaneity.” His words were softer now, without the accusatory edge. “You’re cold.” He pulled me into the warm spray for a moment, mistaking my shivers of fear for a chill.

I pulled my hair out of the way over my shoulder as he washed me. Anticipation replaced fear as the tingles under my skin followed the movement of his hands. The wetness between my legs wasn’t entirely due to the shower.

He urged my elbows up, and I raised my arms.

As he soaped my sides he approached, but didn’t reach, the sides of my breasts. Moving down, his soapy hands caressed my legs. “And I don’t think your brain is too small either, Sugarbear.”

Finally, a nice comment.

“I know you’re smart.”

And earlier he’d said he liked my boobs, or at least that there wasn’t anything wrong with them.

His hands traced a path down my legs. “And a tattoo. You surprise me, Kells.”

I giggled as his fingers trailed sparks to the inside of my thighs. I gasped as he came up higher.

He stopped before reaching anything taboo. “You have nice legs too.”

It came off as a pleasant and sincere compliment, a distinct change from the way our conversation had started.

“Thank you.” The movement of his hands across my skin sent a series of shocks up my spine.

He stood, and I couldn’t see behind me, but I felt his cock brush against my ass as he rose. “Sorry.”

I played dumb. “For what?”

He didn’t answer for a moment. “I just don’t want to talk about your asshole brother.”

“I wanted to say I’m sorry for what happened to you.” I turned around to look into his eyes.

They carried a hurt I couldn’t fathom.

I put a hand on his chest. “I’ll wait till you’re ready to talk about it.”

He removed my hand. “You might have a long wait.”

“I can be patient.” My risk taking wasn’t over yet. “Now will you help me with my front?”

“I better not.”

“Scared?”

He leaned toward me.

I backed up.

“That might lead to me fucking you hard against the wall.”

“And what if that’s what I want?”

My words were completely off-the-charts un-Kelly. They were way beyond anything I’d ever said. And they were unintended, but I couldn’t pull them back, and didn’t care to try. I found myself inexplicably drawn to this annoying man. I couldn’t help but answer his challenge with another of my own.

He offered me the bar of soap and exited the shower.
