My stomach turned over, because Ed had discovered my interactions with Hydra. I could have asked why the hell he’d been following me like the stalker he was, but that wouldn’t solve anything.
“And these.” Ed slid over more small photos to Dennis. “The Cartwright person picking up the package.”
Fuck. Things weren’t looking up, if he’d caught Hydra.
I put my hand out toward Dennis. “I want to see those.”
“Just a moment. Ed, email me this one.” He held up a picture of someone getting into a car.
Ed fiddled with his cell. “Sure.”

Dennis
Ed’s pictureof the car arrived in my email. I opened it, and that clinched it. I recognized that car, and on my big monitor, I could make out the vanity license plate I knew all too well.
He’d caught Jennifer’s Hydra, and it all made sense now.
Jennifer still had her hand out to see the pictures, but I ignored her.
“Thanks, Ed. I know who this is. I’ll take it from here.”
“But don’t you think we should—”
I stopped him with a raised hand. “Like I said, I’ll handle the next step. And good work. This is really good work.”
Ed stood and puffed up like I’d awarded him a medal, which was fine, because he’d just given us a break. “Thank you.”
He left, clearly not happy that I hadn’t asked him to handcuff Jennifer or something equally active.
The door closed.
“Gimme,” Jennifer complained.
I handed her the pictures of Hydra. Although none of them had a good shot of the face, I recognized the car. “Jenn, I know who it is.”
“Who?”
I looked back at my screen to reread the license plate again.
TOTALWAR.
The plate did fit her. “Your swim coach.”

Jennifer
“Your ex-wife? Melissa?”
He turned his monitor so I could see. “That’s her license plate.”
The plate read TOTALWAR. Should have beentotal bitch.
“Then we have her.”
Dennis sighed. “Now that we know she was behind the articles and not Cartwright, this confuses things. How did the emails end up on your computer, and how did Cartwright know to send the SEC looking for them?”
