“Zane, get me the fuck off of this fucking cross,” she hissed. Crew and Zane both chuckled and that was the last thing that she wanted. She needed to get off the cross and calmly talk to her brother—alone.

Zane started to unbuckle her restraints while Crew kept his body pressed up against her, trying to give her some form of discretion. As soon as she was free from the cross, Crew turned and wrapped her in his arms, keeping her from having to faceher brother. Zane grabbed her robe and pulled it around her body, tying it in the front for her. She loved the way that they took care of her, but now wasn’t the time to get all mushy. The guys each pulled on their jeans and grabbed her hands, standing on either side of her. She appreciated the united front that they were trying to present to Ross, but from the scowl on her brother’s face, it wasn’t working.

“You’re with them?” Ross asked her, nodding to Zane and Crew.

“Yes,” she breathed, “I’m with them both.”

“And you didn’t think to tell me?” Ross asked.

“It just happened so quickly,” she defended. “Plus, I am a grown adult and don’t need to tell you who I’m with anymore.”

“And you couldn’t tell me?” he asked Zane. “You’re one of my best friends, and you didn’t think to tell me that you’ve involved my sister as a third in your and Crew relationship? What, are you two planning on just using her to play with for a while and then, sending her on her way?” Hearing her brother refer to her as Crew and Zane’s little play toy pissed her off. She wasn’t disposable, and she knew that. What the three of them shared was so much more.

“You guys weren’t supposed to be here tonight,” Zane defended. “It’s your night off.”

“Is that your explanation as to why you had my sister strapped to the cross?” Ross shouted.

“No,” Zane said. “I just thought that it would be safe to bring her here tonight. As for me being involved with Dakota, it was bound to happen at some point. I hate to tell you this, Ross, but I’ve had a crush on your sister for a long time now. I just never told you because you are my best friend.”

“Was,” Ross corrected. “I was your best friend.”

“Don’t be like that, Ross,” Leo begged. They were amassing quite a crowd of onlookers and Dakota was starting to feel very uncomfortable.

“Can we do this somewhere more private?” she asked. “Everyone is watching us.”

“Oh, so now you don’t like people watching you, Dakota?” Ross spat.

“Don’t talk to her like that,” Zane said, wrapping a protective arm around her. Crew flanked her other side, giving her the safety and security that she needed from them both.

“What gives you the right to tell me what I can and can’t say to my sister, Zane?” Ross asked.

“I’m one of the men who is in love with her,” he admitted. Dakota didn’t hide her gasp.

“You are?” she asked.

“Yeah, I have been for a while,” Zane admitted.

“I’m in love with you too, Honey,” Crew whispered into her ear, seeming not to want to share their private moment with the rest of the room.

“Oh,” she breathed. Dakota felt as though her heart might beat right out of her chest. She never imagined that the two men who had captured her heart loved her back, yet here they both were, professing their love to her in front of a whole crowd of people and her brother.

“I—I love you both, too,” she said, looking between the two of them. “And if you don’t like that I’m with Crew and Zane, then I have nothing more to say to you, Ross,” she said.

“I didn’t know that you were in a relationship, but you should have told me,” Ross insisted. “Why did the three of you keep it a secret?” That was a good question, but one that she already knew the answer to.

“I was drowning my sorrows at the bar over Jenna’s death, and they found me sitting there. They helped me through Jenna’s funeral, and I guess I needed them,” she admitted.

“We needed you too, baby,” Zane crooned.

Crew nodded his agreement, “In fact, we were going to ask you to move in with us, permanently.”

“Really?” she asked. She didn’t even have to think over her answer. “I’d love too.”

“Once you move in with us, it will mean that we’re in a committed relationship,” Zane said. “Are you good with that?” he asked.

“I am,” Dakota promised, not giving her answer a second thought.

“Listen, man,” Zane said to Ross, “I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you about the three of us. I guess I was a chicken shit, and it was all so new. But I do love her,” he said, looking back at Dakota. “Can’t you find a way to forgive us for not telling you?”
