The elemental leaders let me leave, hopefully with my words on their minds. Furthermore, I didn’t really have anywhere else to go. So, I had Rehan land on the other side of the castle. We were in the air for maybe fifteen seconds before we touched down, in full view of the elemental leaders, where we then broke back into their building to squat.

Peachy.

Maybe they didn’t notice.

I picked the room the EM had been held in for three reasons. One, windowless with only one exit, it was extremely defensible. Two, it was technically neutral territory for all the elemental dragons. And three, most importantly, a small washroom with a shower was just down the hall.

While I made use of said shower, the guys managed to wrestle up a few cots and move the massive table off to one side. We were beat physically and mentally. With dragons usually healing when they shifted, first aid kits were almost nonexistent. With all my guys having shifted and only wearing their scales, we turned what little I wore into bandages.

I truly understood how exhausted they were when my scantily clad ass didn’t cause a single argument.

We each sat on the little cots. Ogden perched on the edge of Lux’s. The air prince had briefly woken before Og’s healing took the energy right back out of him. The rune-covered warlock himself yawned, not far from Lux’s state.

Tyson stood and slid to Lux’s side. “Save some of that juice to do the door again.” He poked Og’s green magic to no effect.

I shook my head. “No barricades. No magic. We get Lux awake, we orgy, and with my magic free, I’ll get off this island and fix this mess.”

“No.” Rehan and Og said at the same time.

I bristled. “No?”

“Afraid she’ll pick me?” Tyson dropped onto my cot and wrapped an arm around my waist, his gaze glued to my very exposed cleavage.

“Love,” Rehan said, giving Tyson a warning glair. “We’re exhausted and injured.”

“No.” I licked my lips. “You’re pumped full of rage and adrenaline from battle.” I slid my hand up Tyson’s washboard abs. “You’re still dragon shifters, right?”

Tyson's hand on my waist drifted to my ass, and heat bloomed in Rehan’s gaze. Questioning a man’s masculinity always flooded them with, well, masculinity. Damn, I was good at this.

Og stopped healing Lux. “You’re trying to emasculate us to get your way.” He gave me the most disappointed puppy look I’d ever seen, and a guilty twang pinched my chest. “We’re your mates. Nottools.” He let my word sit between us. “We lost dragons tonight. Friends or not, their death weighs on all of us.”

Tyson dropped his hand away from my ass.

“Lux is rutting,” Ogden added, healing magic coming out of his hands once again. “You might have shocked him out of it, but sex will definitely set it off. Ruts can last days.”

I squeezed my eyes shut, feeling like the manipulative bitch I was. Despite my better judgment, I opened my mouth again. “I can control Lux. We can figure this out. I just need my magic back. I thought we were on the same page?”

Rehan grunted and shook his head.

His silent disappointment hurt more than I wanted to admit.

“No, Jay.” Og didn’t look away from Lux. “This feels wrong. You used Lux’s magic tonight, enough to almost ground my dragon, yet Rehan’s the only one of us to penetrate you.”

I chewed on my bottom lip, having had these exact thoughts.

“Your orgy theory is just that, a theory. Rushing tonight will only hurt us in the long run.” He stopped casting and met my gaze. “On some level, you know that. You don’t believe we can all love you. What’s worse, I don’t think you believe you deserve love. All getting your magic back will do is give you more tools to lie to yourself.” He narrowed his eyes. “Even if it means letting the world burn, I will not participate.”

My gut pinched, my stomach muscles tightening as if Og’s words physically punched me. Waves of hot and cold flushed across my skin. I went from hurt to angry and back to hurt before settling on generally unhappy. The little voice in my head clammed up.

“My power can fix all of this!” My words sounded desperate even to my ears.

“Can it?” Og focused on Lux again. “The apparition said, ‘Our mistake.’ He called you his obsession and referred to a third completely unknown party infecting the Ley Lines. Now, demons I didn’t know existed dropped from the sky. Magic you had nothing to do with.” He stopped casting again and stepped to my side, catching the back of my neck and forcing me tomeet his eyes. “There will be no orgy until we all understand the stakes. I don’t know. You don’t know.” He quoted me. “Stop pushing us away, and let us help you.”

His other arm snaked around my torso, pulling me into his bare chest, and he brought his lips to mine. I expected the curse to shock him away. Instead, his tongue slipped between my lips, dominating me and showing me exactly how he felt.

How much he thought he loved me.

All of them had to have stepped forward for Og to have this moment. They all wanted this to work.
