Fuck it. I lean forward, gently closing the door behind me, so Rosie doesn’t hear. “What if I tell you I’m going to ask her to marry me?” I whisper.

Gabi’s jaw drops and her eyes widen so much I almost think they’re going to pop out of her head. “What?” she yells.

“The point of whispering is to not make a scene,” I whisper-hiss at her, closing my eyes with a groan. “I knew I shouldn’t have told you.”

“No. No. No,” she repeats, shaking her head. “I can keep it a secret. I won’t tell anyone, I promise.”

“You sure?” I ask, skeptically, raising a brow at her.

“Yes,” she replies with a roll of her eyes. “I know how to keep a secret.”

“I highly doubt that.”

Her eyes narrow when I let out a scoff. “You don’t know what I know. I might have the biggest secret of all, and you wouldn’t even suspect a thing.”

“Right,” I say with a laugh.

Her face screws up and she shakes her head. “If only you…” She groans. “Never mind. It’s not even worth it. Am I the only one who knows you’re proposing?”

“Yeah,” I admit with a smirk. “I was going to tell Aiden today.”

“Wait.” Her brows shoot up into her hairline. “I’m the first person you’ve told?”

“God help me,” I breathe out, harshly, regretting all my decisions, “but yes.”

“Oh my god!” Her squeal makes me wince, and I pray Rosie doesn’t hear her. “I’m so excited.”

“I can tell,” I drawl, shaking my head. This might be the worst mistake I’ve ever made. “Are you sure you can keep this to yourself for a while?”

“Yes,” she repeats with an eye roll. “Aside from Chris, I won’t tell anyone.”

My brow arches. “You’re telling Chris?” I ask. “What happened to ‘I won’t tell anyone’?”

“Chris doesn’t count,” Gabi says with a scoff. “I tell him everything.”

“Of course you do,” I say, breathing out a laugh. I don’t know why I’m surprised. Those two are attached at the hip. Besides, I’m planning on telling the guys at some point anyway.

“So, when are you going to ask her?” she asks, grinning like an idiot. But then her smile drops, and she pins me with a murderous glare. “You’re not going to ask her this weekend, right? Grayson Carter Livingston, I swear to all that is holy in this world, if you steal my thunder—”

“Calm down.” I raise my hands defensively as she advances, her fist inches from my face. “I’m not going to steal your thunder.”

She drops her hands, her face softening to something less murdery. “You’re not?”

“No,” I confirm, blowing out a breath. “But it’ll be soon. I already have it all planned out and even stalked her laptop to find her dream ring,” I admit.

Gabi’s face lifts into a genuine smile, and she actually looks happy for me. “Finally,” she breathes out a sigh, shaking her head. “Who would have thought you guys would be the last to get married?”

Yeah, I know. Nine years ago, I didn’t even believe in love. But now, one look at the girl inside this room and I knowshe’s the love of my life. I knew in my heart I wanted to marry her years ago, but with her career taking off and her being so busy, I didn’t want to take away any of her achievements.

From the very first moment I laid eyes on her at that frat party sophomore year, she’s been mine. And she’s been mine ever since. Even without a ring.

But I can’t fucking wait to slip a ring on her finger, see her wear it every day, and watch her walk down the aisle in a gorgeous white dress, and be my wife.

My wife.

Fuck.

I want that. So. Bad.
