Regent was debating whether to go into the changing room again and call this off when she appeared, blushing, a towel wrapped around her.

He stepped toward her. She had nothing to be embarrassed or worried about. He was sure of that.

Fuck Crane for making her think she had anything to be ashamed of.

Regent wanted to go to her, strip off the towel, and worship every inch of her body with his tongue. Instead, he held out his hand, thinking that it might be better if she came to him.

Thankfully, she didn’t keep him waiting. She walked over to him, taking his hand and letting him draw her against him. Regent wrapped his arms around her.

“Such a brave girl,” he whispered, repeating his words from earlier. When she’d walked in, she’d looked stressed and uncomfortable. But the moment he praised her, he felt her body relax and a smile lit up her face.

He knew she liked being praised. He’d heap all the praise she could take on her if it made her look that happy.

“Ready to go swimming?” he asked.

She stared up at him. “Yes.”

Regent brushed back her hair. Then he kissed her forehead before stepping back so he could undo her towel and draw it away from her.

She was wearing a two-piece that fit her like a glove. It was black and white. The top half lifted her breasts up, pressing them together. And the bottoms came part way up her stomach, with a wide band of white at the top.

“You look incredible, baby.”

“You like it? It has a bit of a sixties feel to it. I kind of like that.”

“Perfect choice.” Taking her hand, he led her down the stairs, into the pool. He watched her closely, not wanting her to slip.

Even though she’d told him that she had completely recovered from her illness, he knew that she was still weak.

And she occasionally had temperature spikes that he wanted to monitor.

“All right, baby? Not too cold?” he asked as they headed farther out into the water. He’d grabbed some pool toys, including a floating device that she could hold onto if she grew tired. It was also big enough for her to float on if she needed to.

There was also a blow-up ring and a large flamingo, which Maxim had bought him for Christmas last year.

Why, he had no idea. But the kids enjoyed playing on it.

“If you want to go swimming, you can,” she said. “I’m happy down in the shallow end.”

“Wrap your arms around my neck,” he ordered. “I’ll take you farther out.”

She ended up with her arms and legs wrapped around him, which suited him just fine. He couldn’t resist kissing her lightly as he moved farther into the water.

“How are your floating skills?” he asked. He wanted to assess how well she could swim.

“Not too bad, I think.”

“Let’s put you on your back. Don’t worry, I won’t let you drown.”

“I know you won’t.”

He hovered as she moved onto her back. Her bottom started sinking and he saw the panic filling her face.

“Easy, baby,” he said, placing a hand under her head. “You’re all right. I’m here. Just push your bottom up. That’s it. I’ve got you. You won’t go under.”

Her floating was a bit shaky. She could do a decent freestyle, but her backstroke was terrible. She definitely needed some lessons. Which he’d be providing since no one else was allowed to see her in a bathing suit.
