“Final decision?” Bishop asked.

“Whatever you decide, we follow, brother,” Bart said.

Hearing his other blood brothers chime in hit Bishop square in the chest. He was done with this meeting. “Let’s do it this evening, then. 8:00 PM, oui?”

They all agreed and he signed off, ready to find his wife. He was suddenly desperate to bury his face in her breasts and make love to her. Feel how real she was. How perfect. Howhis.

Vex dialed his Verthur as he made his way to the Sanctum.

“Drot,” Verrick greeted. “What can I do for you?”

“I need to locate as many antique clocks as I can locally. I have a potential student I’m wooing.”

“That likes antique clocks?”

“Her mother does. The student is Rosavelt and she’s nine.”

“Winning the mother.”

“Opening a door for dialogue.”

“Is she assignment material?” he asked.

“Perhaps,” he said, not against a one-stroke-two-gain outcome.

“I will scour the local antique markets.”

“Good. She works on clocks, and I made the inference that I like them. She’s agreed to come here and fix the large broken one that I will own the second you find and buy it.”

He chuckled. “This Rosavelt must be special.”

“She’s a delight.”

“What’s her gift?”

Vex considered that. “As of now, being charmingly witty and honest. I would like to have her tested. She paints and I purchased some of her works. The mother has agreed to bring them and her when she comes to look at my clock. How soon can you do this?”

“Immediately.”

“Thank you. Keep me informed. I’m headed to the meeting with the Marsh Kings this evening at 8:00. I will see if I can’t get her here tomorrow afternoon.”

“I should be able to find something by then.”

“Good. Keep in mind that I told her the clock was too large to move.”

“Got it.”

“Thank you, Verrick.”

“My pleasure, Drot.”

Before he could slip his phone in his pocket, it trilled. “Speak of the wooee.” He answered, “Ms. Skelton,” remembering she was widowed.

“Hi, uh. Mr. Vex.”

“Yes.”
