It’s hard, though. And so is Asher. Constantly.

He’ll be at training camp by the time I can have sex, and then we’ll be apart for a couple of weeks as he goes to California to train with the team.

I’m not looking forward to two weeks away from him. Two weeks alone with the baby. Two weeks on my own.

Well…sort of. My mom is going to stay here with me for those two weeks since Dad will be gone, too, and it’ll give her lots of time to bond with the baby. Missy is also coming out and staying with us, and Addy is still on summer break and is coming, too.So, it’ll be slumber parties with my bestie, my mom, and my future mother-in-law as we all gaze at Jake.

I’ll miss the hell out of Asher, and I know he’s devastated to miss two entire weeks with the baby, but I’m focusing on how much fun the girl time will be.

I feel the love and support of the Nash family as Jolene, Ava, and Grace all text or call me daily to check on me. Jolene has been a fountain of information when it comes to babies since Josephine is two years and three months old…and Jolene is pregnant again.

She hasn’t told anyone except me yet—well, and her husband—and it only slipped out when we were chatting about the joys of pregnancy. I’m fairly certain I can keep a secret, but it’s going to be hard to hold that one in with Missy here.

I lift the baby into my arms as he squirms a little, and I sit on the couch to feed him while Asher gets some bacon into the oven.

“Grace said Spencer’s getting close with the twins,” I say absently from the couch.

“Spencer told me that, too,” he says. I hear him slide the pan into the oven, which means just twenty minutes until hot, fresh, delicious bacon. “He said exactly what I suspected when I met them. Tanner is a mix of Grayson and Lincoln, and Miller is a mix of Spence and me.”

“I can’t imagine a mix of Spencer and you. Logical and wild? They don’t go together.”

He chuckles as he walks over and sits next to me. “More the fact that it’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for.”

“Tanner is going to kill it out there,” I say. Tanner Banks is one hell of a quarterback. He led his previous team to a championship and to six winning seasons, but after butting heads with a new head coach, he was actively seeking a trade.

It was a blockbuster deal that also included Miller, and now he’ll be leading Spencer—the brother he didn’t even know he was related to—as well as his twin brother as the team’s new quarterback.

It’ll be fun watching them this season, and even more fun knowing that someday they’ll be my brothers-in-law, too. As a San Diego Storm fan, I can’t help but be thrilled that the team acquired the type of talent the Banks brothers have.

The baby finishes eating, and I lift him to burp him. I cradle him in my arms, and I know he won’t always be big enough for me to do this, so I’m soaking in every sweet moment I have with him.

I can’t help but think about the future. Will he turn out to be a football player like his daddy and both his grandfathers? Or will he turn away from football as a way to stubbornly set his own path? Who knows where time will lead him, but I’m excited to be a part of every single second of it.

He’s sleeping, and the bacon is ready, so I join Asher in the kitchen as he pulls the steaming tray out of the oven.

I moan as I take a bite, and he visibly shifts in his chair with each of my moans.

“You need to stop that. You’re tempting me again.”

I laugh a little, and then I moan again, just for good measure.

We each have a few pieces, and then he glances at me and raises his brows as he nods upstairs. It’s the universal invitation for sexy time, and my eyes light up as I nod.

We carry Jake’s bassinet into his room, where he’ll be next to a monitor in case we need to listen for him, and then we head toward our bedroom down the hall.

We steal these moments when we can, and that tells me we’ll always make time for each other. I love that even after a year of knowing each other, I still can’t get enough of him. I can’t wait to make him my husband, and we decided we’re going to wait untilthe season is over. The end of February is the perfect time for us, and I’ve started looking at venues. It’ll obviously have to be the event of the season given my profession, and I think I want a destination wedding, but I haven’t decided for sure just yet.

The second we’re in our room and Asher closes the door behind us, his mouth finds mine. He kisses me like his life depends on it, and these are the moments I’ll think of when I’m missing him next week. He holds me close, our bodies melding together as he kisses me, one of my hands resting on his chest as the other moves around his neck.

He thrusts his hips toward me, and I moan into him.

He pulls back abruptly. “Get naked, and then lay on your back on the bed.”

I scramble to do exactly as he says, and he gets naked, too. A moment later, he’s moving over me, lavishing my tits with his mouth, sucking as he takes some of the milk that’s already filling in even though I just fed Jake.

“Mm,” he moans as he keeps sucking. He lifts up from me to look me in the eye. “Why is breastmilk so fucking hot?” He ducks his head back down and sucks some more, and I feel his cock as it moves between my legs.

God, what I wouldn’t give for him to rail the hell out of me right now. I’m nearly desperate for it, but it’ll still be at least two and a half weeks before we’re able to.
