“Relax, man,” Leo told his friend. “Jazz will get her calmed down and back out here soon.”

He may not have seen Jasmine Kingsford in a long while, but he knew her enough to know that wasn’t a lie.

“Thanks,” Will sighed, scrubbing a hand down his face. His frustration was clear to see. “I just hate knowing she’s upset. She means the world to me.”

“I know,” he said, clapping his best friend on the shoulder. After seeing Will and Winter together, there was no doubt in his mind that what they had was the real deal. It actually made him a little jealous.

Will looked in the direction Jazz had gone. “Did I interrupt something between the two of you?”

“I think you might have,” Leo answered, still thinking about it. He was more than a little shocked to find out the woman his best friend had been trying to set him up with this whole time was none other than the girl he’d grown up watching out for. Add on the fact that she was hotter than hell, and still managed to turn him inside out. He was gobsmacked. It might take a while for it to sink in.

“You work fast,” Will said with a grin. “Are we looking at another case of love at first sight?”

He shook his head. “If it was love at first sight, we would have fallen for each other when we were kids.”

“Wait, what?” His friend frowned and looked back at the door. “I’m confused.”

That made two of them.

“Remember the girl I always complained about at camp?” he asked, figuring it was best to start at the beginning. Jazz had driven him so crazy as a teen, Leo knew he’d mentioned her to Will on more than one occasion. “The one I lived with before I graduated and moved here?”

“The prissy daughter of your mom’s boss?” Will’s expression was confused for only a moment before it cleared. “Your mom was the Kingsford’s housekeeper?”

“Yep.” Leo rubbed his jaw. “Small world and all that shit, right?”

“That’s crazy,” Will agreed with wide eyes.

“Tell me about it,” he snorted. “I never thought I’d see her again, much less be set up with her by my best friend.”

“That’s wild. I can’t believe our Jazz is the same Jasmine you always bitched about.” Will shook his head. “From the stories you told about her, they don’t seem like the same person.”

“I was a teenager,” he defended with a shrug. “I bitched about everything back then. I never hated her; I was just annoyed.”

“And now?” Will asked with raised brows.

“I’m intrigued.” If Leo were being honest, he was more than a little intrigued by the woman his Jazz had become. She’d shaken him up.

“Interesting.” Will handed Leo a bottle of beer he’d snagged from a passing waiter. “If you want my opinion, I think you two would be perfect together. And that was before I knew she was the girl who had you twisted up all those years ago.”

“Really?”

“Really,” his friend answered with a nod. “Don’t drag your feet, either. I’ve had more than one person ask me if she’s single tonight and she just got here like twenty minutes ago.”

“Who?” Leo growled, his eyes immediately narrowing on the group of single men crowding the bar. He’d heard a few of them mention her name earlier but he hadn’t known then that they were talking abouthisJazz. “Was it Nix?”

“It doesn’t matter,” his buddy chuckled, stepping in between Leo and the line of sight he’d been glaring in. “I just wanted to give you fair warning that thereareothers interested. I’m honestly surprised one of the guys hasn’t snatched her up yet. They all adore her.”

“I’m sure they do,” he grumbled. “She’s adorable.”

Will nudged Leo towards the tables. “If I were you, I’d find the table you and Jazz are seated at.”

“What for?” he asked.

“If I remember the seating chart right, you and Jazz are on opposite sides of the table. I’m pretty sure she’s between Nix and—”

“I’ll be back,” he growled, prowling towards the large banquet tables. Scanning the place cards, he found the one he was looking for and switched it with the one next to his seat. If Jazz was going to be sitting next to anyone, it was going to be him.

They had a lot of catching up to do.
