“I knew back then you were special. I just wasn’t in any place to do anything about it.” He gave her a dimpled smile. “This time around though…”

There was nothing stopping them.

Jazz swallowed hard at the unspoken realization.

There wasn’t anything stopping her from exploring where things might go with Leo. Victoria and Reginald weren’t here to interfere after all these years and even if they were, shewanted him enough to ignore whatever protests they launched. She couldn’t keep living for them instead of herself. If not, she was going to end up miserable for the rest of her life.

She raised her palm and cupped his strong jaw. Her heart skittered when he leaned into the touch with a grin.

“Take me to bed.”

His eyes went wide at her words before he nodded sharply.

“Yes, ma’am,” he said, pulling out of the parking lot with a quickness that had her giggling.

Chapter 9

Leo didn’t know what the hell he’d done to deserve the woman in his arms, but he was thanking his lucky stars for it now.

Jazz gasped for breath as he ravaged her puffy lips, the skin swollen from his kisses. He couldn’t help himself; he was addicted to her taste.

Jasmine Kingsford—his Jazz—had taken a tight hold of his heart in the span of just a few hours. Their shared past may have helped things along a little, but he knew that even without those years growing together, they’d still be here in each other’s arms. It was fate.

There was no doubt in his mind that this woman belonged with him and vice versa. It may be crazy, but it was the truth. She was gorgeous, hilarious, smart, and her kisses were magic. She was an amazing fucking woman, and he was the lucky bastard that was going to make sure she knew it before the night was over—hopefully over and over again.

The pair had stumbled as far as the outside entryway of his house before he’d stopped to kiss her, and now he worried they’d never make it inside. Jazz moaned when Leo dragged his lips from her mouth to the sensitive skin under her ear. The sounds she made only urged him on. He bathed the soft skin with small teasing licks of his tongue before scraping his teeth along the sensitive column of her throat. He couldn’t believe how amazing she smelled, her scent was heavenly.

“Door?” she gasped, squirming up against him where he had her trapped against the wall.

Leo grunted. The reminder that they were still outside got him moving. He wanted to get her naked and that wasn’t happening out here for everyone to see. He had no idea how he managed it, but he was able to unlock the door while keeping one hand on the curvy bundle in his arms.

“Leo?” she moaned as he half carried her over the threshold.

With his lips still pressed against her exposed throat, he growled. “Yeah?”

“I lost a shoe.”

He pulled away slightly to look down their entangled bodies. Jazz wiggled the toes on her right foot against his calf. He glanced back through the open doorway and could see something on his welcome mat. It was just a few feet away, but it may as well have been a mile because there was no way in hell he was letting go of her to go back and get it. He’d buy her a new pair—fuck, he’d buy her a million of them—to keep going.

“It’s on the porch.” He nudged the door shut with his elbow. “We’ll get it tomorrow.”

“How’d that happen?” She asked, her eyes dazed.

“No idea,” he groaned, diving for her lips again. Running his rough palm down the outside of her right thigh, Leo gripped the underside and squeezed. “I love your body.”

Breaking away from the kiss, she ran her foot up and down the back of his calf. “Ditto.”

“C’mon, honey. Let’s move this somewhere more comfortable.” He rucked her skirt up around her hips and lifted.

“Yes please,” she whispered, wrapping her legs around him with a needy sigh as he walked them down the short hall to his bedroom.

His hands took advantage of the hold he had on her ass and kneaded the generous globes. The material separating them was tight, outlining all of her curves for him to fondle.

Setting her down on the floor beside his bed, he took a step back, making sure to keep her steady since she was only wearing her left heel.

“Let me take care of this.” Kneeling in front of her, he slipped it off.

With her black skirt still up and caught around her waist, Jazz’s stockings were in plain view and the site almost gave him a heart attack. He felt lightheaded, every drop of his blood rushing to the heavy erection pushing against his zipper as he took in the vision before him.
