“Good morning, Mr. Sheridan,” she answered breathlessly. “What can I do for you?”

The teasing, very suggestive tone in her voice made him smile.Vixen.There were so many things she could do for him—all of the sexual variety. But, at that moment, having her presence near him soothed the sadness away. “Come in here and close the door behind you.”

Her throaty chuckle filled the line. “As you wish.”

She sashayed into his office, shutting the door, and looking more beautiful than ever before. There was a definite glow abouther and he attributed it to all of the orgasms he’d given her throughout the night.

“I just met with Carlisle,” he said, standing up and walking over to her.

The playful look in her dark eyes instantly turned serious. “What did he say?”

“He wants me to find security weaknesses at a chemical plant.”

He could see her mind working fast, mulling over this new intel. “Do you think they’re going to steal something?”

“I don’t know. All he said was find weaknesses at the Orion Chemical Plant and to report back ASAP.”

“We need to call Brax.”

A few minutes later, they explained the situation with Braxton on a video call over Inda’s phone. “Can you hack into Carlisle’s laptop?” Braxton asked.

“I can hack into anything,” Lucas announced without hesitation, and Inda smirked.

“Then do it. Find out if there are any messages between him and anyone else about this chemical plant. If they’re planning on stealing something, I want to know what and when so we can intercept them. In the meantime, we got a ping on the Santiagos.”

“Where are they?” Inda asked.

“At a fancy, private resort in Utah.”

Lucas sat up straighter. “Carlisle’s assistant just told me he’s going out of town again tomorrow. Somewhere called Summit Serenity…in Utah.”

“He must be meeting them,” Inda said, getting excited. “Pharaoh, I want to go.”

“I’m going with you,” Lucas added. There was no way in hell he was letting her go off alone, half-cocked and without backup.

“We can’t let Carlisle see you,” Inda said.

“We can’t let him see either of us,” he corrected.

“Right, so we’ll go incognito and make sure we aren’t picked up by facial recognition.”

“Keep your faces covered and Banshee will make you a reservation. In order not to arouse suspicion, you’ll go in as a couple. Get packed and I’ll have Pyro make sure the jet is fueled and ready.”

“Roger,” Inda said. They wrapped up the call and she disconnected it. “Are you sure you want to come? It could get dangerous.”

“That’s exactly why I’m coming. From this point forward, I’m on your side and I have your back. Got it?”

Her mouth edged up. “Got it.”

“Good.” He leaned down and kissed her hard. She needed to understand that he wasn’t letting her out of his sight, especially after they’d told him how dangerous and deadly The Agency was. Sure, she might have her team, but now she had him, too.

Chapter Fourteen

After they each packed a bag, Inda and Lucas met Hunter “Pyro” McGrath at the private airport on the outskirts of the city. Inda embraced the slim woman who was a former Navy pilot. Her sage green eyes turned appreciatively to Lucas, and Inda introduced them, trying to ignore the twinge of jealousy when they shook hands.

God, it was so unlike her to be envious. Hunter was a great person and was always there to support Ex Nihilo on their quest to eliminate The Agency. But the insecurities Inda possessed screamed out that the beautiful woman with russet-colored hair might be more to Lucas’ liking.

“We can be wheels-up in two minutes and—” she glanced down at her watch “—twenty-two seconds.”
