Dylan placed a quick kiss on her temple and stood up, disappearing into the bathroom to take care of the condom. He paused and glanced in the mirror. Then, he ran a hand through his disheveled hair and sighed.Finally. After all of these years of wanting Hollis…

She’s the stuff that dreams are made of, he thought. They finally agreed on something-- the sex was outstanding. The best he’d ever had. Now, he just had to make sure she stayed. Because something inside Dylan knew that his little redhead liked her freedom and he wouldn’t be a bit surprised if she tried to bolt. But, he’d do whatever it would take to make sure his wild mustang didn’t go anywhere.

When Dylan walked back out, completely comfortable in his nakedness, Hollis couldn’t help but take a good look. He really was a perfect male specimen. So tall and muscular and, well, quite well-endowed she now knew.

God, she had still been sore from last night. Now, she was going to feel him all day where he’d stretched her apart all over again.

When Dylan sauntered over and extended his hand, she reached up and his fingers wrapped around hers. He pulled her up, right into his arms, and leaned his forehead against hers. “Whatever’s happening between us...let’s just go with it.”

Just go with it? What the hell does that mean?Hollis wondered.

She pulled back and frowned. “In other words, let’s just keep fucking. Is that what you mean?”

Dylan released a breath. “Hollis, what happened last night-- what just happened again-- that was a little more than just fucking. At least, in my book.” He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Hollis nodded and looked up to meet his chocolate eyes. And, she trusted him. “Mine, too,” she said in a soft voice.

“Good. I’m glad we’re on the same page.” He tilted her chin up, lowered his mouth and kissed her senseless. Then, he pulled back, stroking his hands up and down her arms. “Are you in a rush to get home?”

“Just have a date with a sunken ship.”

“Wanna go get some fresh coconut before we leave? I need to rehydrate.” He gave her a pirate’s smile.

Only Dylan Ford, she thought, and gave her head a little shake.

Chapter Thirteen

After they got dressed and kissed a bit more, Dylan and Hollis went down to the marketplace.

Not far away, hidden in the crowd, Tony watched them closely.

Well, well, well,he thought. They looked awfully cozy together. His eyes narrowed, zeroing in on Hollis. Since his plan to blow them to smithereens didn’t work out last night, he decided to snag Hollis and force her to re-navigate the course and find the final resting place of the Santa Lucia for him. Even though he had stolen her folder and all the information her Dad had left from her house, he still had no idea where the damn ship had sunk.

Tony turned to the thugs he hired the night before and handed the biggest one a stack of money.

“Get her,” he ordered. “And, if you finish him off, there’s a little something extra in it for you.”

The thugs nodded and slipped into the crowded market.

Meanwhile, Hollis and Dylan drank the juice from freshly-cracked coconuts as they wandered from stall to stall, taking in the sights and sounds of Cuba.

“We still haven’t agreed on my percentage,” Dylan said, dark eyes teasing.

Hollis pretended to think for a moment. “Forty-nine point nine,” she offered.

“You’re really something else. You know that?”

She laughed and, out of nowhere, two thugs stepped forward, knives drawn.

“Shit,” Dylan swore. He moved in front of Hollis, blocking her, and pulled his Ka-Bar from his boot. “Go,” he hissed.

Hollis dropped the coconut and ducked behind a stall while Dylan whirled on the two thugs, knife ready. One lunged at him, slashing wildly, and Dylan jumped back, out of the blade’s way.

At the same time, he turned and caught the second thug in the jaw with his elbow. The second thug dropped, while the first lashed out again, this time slicing through Dylan’s shirt. Blood blossomed on his upper arm.

Sonofabitch. That stings.

Dylan launched himself out of the way as the blade came flying through the air again, but this time toward his throat. He dropped and rolled out of the way, across the ground and scrambled beneath a table full of goods.
