‘Hey, let’s not fall out over it and agree that we both did a damn good job,’ Axel chuckled, his breathing still heavy and a wonderful smile on his face. ‘That was special. And it was a Daddy and boy team effort.’

Arlo looked across to Axel and saw that beside being a man mountain and full-on Daddy Dom who knew exactly how totake charge, he was also a kind, caring man who deserved the best in life.

Arlo didn’t know for sure whether he was the perfect Little for Axel, but in that moment, he felt beyond doubt that Axel was his ideal Daddy in each and every way imaginable…

The following morning came around and after a fun family breakfast with Kipp and Dale, Arlo and Axel kissed one another goodbye. But they wouldn’t have to wait too long to be reunited as Axel was merely heading out to work on some tricky tree issues that Kipp was having in his orchard.

And with Dale heading into town to work a shift at The Hot Plate, Arlo had the run of the ranch – and there was only one place that he was going to head to… the play barn!

‘Wahoooo!’ Arlo squealed, sliding down the wooden castle’s slide and into a big pile of bean bags. ‘Come on Sass, follow me! You don’t need to be afraid.’

Arlo was wearing his favorite apple-patterned t-shirt with matching shorts and as he looked up to the top of the slide and beckoned Sass down, he felt a clear sense of how happy being at Eagle Ridge Ranch made him feel.

Of course, Arlo knew that his and Axel’s late night fun was playing a big part in his joy-filled morning too. The connection Arlo felt both before, during, and after they made love was something that he knew to be the realest of the real.

Arlo had fooled around with other men before and had a couple of experiences with other Daddies. But nothing hadcome even close to what him and Axel had done the previous night. It might have been their first time together, but there was a natural born shorthand between them and it felt to Arlo like things were only going to get hotter between them as time passed.

However that could wait.

Right now Arlo was at the bottom of the castle slide and his most cherished stuffie was being a scaredy cat and refusing to join him!

‘Oh fine, Sass Sassberry, I’ll come get you,’ Arlo giggled running round to the side of the castle and clambering up to the top with the intention of sliding back down with his little strawberry friend in his lap.

However just as Arlo was getting ready to slide back down into the plump beanbags, he heard a loud rattling noise coming from the barn’s roof.

‘Argh. Not good,’ Arlo said, scuttling across the top of the castle and hiding underneath a small turret.

The rattling sound continued and there was a menacing air to it as the barn’s corrugated iron roof made a loud, rumbling noise. Suddenly Arlo would have done anything to be back in the ranch house and all cuddled up to Axel. At the very least, Arlo would have preferred to have had a Little friend in the barn with him.

Please stop, please stop, please stop.

Stinky noise go away!

Go away NOW!

Arlo shut his eyes and hoped for the best. Fortunately, everything went quiet again soon enough and Arlo felt his heartbeat slowing down just a touch.

‘W-w-w-what the heck was that?’ Arlo asked, holding Sass tight and peering out from underneath the castle’s roof turret.

Arlo knew that the noise was probably the wind outside or even a bird landing on the roof. But there had been something about the severity of the noise that had taken Arlo all the way back to his days in the military – and with that came the memories of being chased and bullied, and then the stress of his dismissal panel and everything else that followed on after that too.

‘Okay, just breathe,’ Arlo said, inhaling and exhaling slowly in order to calm himself once more. ‘No big deal. No big deal.’

And luckily for Arlo, he actually was able to relax sooner than he thought. A few moments later, the very welcome sight of Marshall entering the barn set his mind at ease and even better than that… Marshall was fully equipped with sour candies and his patented mischievous grin.

‘Hey? Are you okay?’ Marshall called out.

‘Yeah. I’m good,’ Arlo replied, doing his best to sound as relaxed and totally chill as he possibly could.

‘Come on, let’s have some fun!’ Marshall hollered, evidently totally unaware of what had just happened. ‘It’s playdate time!’

Arlo felt a sense of relief come over him in double-quick time.

While it might have been a good idea on some level to fill Marshall in on what he had just been through, Arlo decidedthat the best course of action would be to simply lean into the playdate and have as much fun as he possibly could. After all, what better way to put all thoughts of the military out of his head than letting loose and having the most carefree Little Space time with a brand new Little friend?
