“I can see you need some encouragement,” he told me, sliding two fingers inside me and crooking them to rub at my G-spot.

Two-point-three seconds.

That’s exactly how long it took me to come against his mouth. When my legs had stopped scissoring against the bed, Nick slid inside my twitching pussy and fucked me until he came.

Pulling out of me, he stood and held out his hand. “Come and take a shower with me.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Why do I get the feeling that a shower with you is more than just a shower?”

“I promise I won’t fuck you. I just want to take care of you before we both go about our days.”

With a reluctant nod, I slid from the bed, feeling his cum sliding out of me. Taking me by the hand, he took me into the bathroom, started the shower, then pushed me gently under the spray when it was warm enough. With light strokes, he washed my body, then his own before turning off the water and retrieving towels for us both.

“Go and get dressed,” he ordered, rubbing the towel through his dark hair. His biceps flexed with the motion, making his tattoos dance and writhe. “Go,” he added, kissing me lightly on the lips.

I walked into my bedroom feeling lighter than I had in months. I got dressed in a pair of denim shorts and an oversized cat tee—the one with a fat orange cat in the middle and the word ‘chonk’ written below—then pulled on my steel-capped boots.

Nick was already back in his clothes from last night and waiting for me at the kitchen counter. “I looked for coffee but couldn’t find any.”

“I haven’t made it to the store yet,” I explained.

He nodded, took my jaw in his hand, and kissed me. “I have to go.”

“Okay.” It came out as a whisper.

“Tomorrow night. I’ll take you out properly.”

I nodded.

“Walk me out.”

Together, we went down the stairs and into the garage, then through to the office. Bliss had her head bent over the pad of pink Post-it notes, a Sharpie in her hand as she said, “So, you’re the man who’s been banging some life back into my best fr—” She looked up and stopped.

Nick’s hand flexed ever so slightly in mine.

“It’s you,” she said.

I stared at Nick, then turned back to Bliss. “What are you talking about?”

Bliss was still staring at Nick like he was the Boogie Man.

To Nick, I said, “How do you know Bliss?”

“I don’t,” he replied, his gaze still on my best friend. “Just saw her at the same party I met you at.”

“Yeah, because I went with her that night. We were supposed to stay together until I lost sight of her.”

He looked at me. “Shewas the friend you were looking for?”

What the hell was going on? “Yeah.”

“Is this the guy who brought you home?” Bliss asked, her Post-it pad and Sharpie forgotten.

“Yeah.” My brows bunched. “What the fuck is going on? Because the way you’re acting right now, it looks like you know each other a little better than just in passing at the party.”

Nick turned to me. “Bliss almost caused a fight between two of my club brothers.”

“A fight?”
