It’s only after we’re both finished that I roll her onto her back and collapse between her legs. My head rests on her inner thigh, and I gaze in wonder at her bare mound, glistening with the product of both of our orgasms. Sticky, messy perfection.

“You like looking at me there,” she murmurs, running her fingers through my hair.

I grunt. “Yeah.”

“And you sound like a caveman when I point it out.”

“I feel like a caveman when I’m doing it.” I climb off the bed and sweep her into my arms. “Shower time, then I want to kick your butt at backgammon.”

“Can I run around naked?”

“You sure can.”

She wraps herself in a blanket for our game—which she wins. After, as I read in the den, she roams around the house without a stitch of clothing on.

We take a long nap in the afternoon, and when I wake up with her in my arms, I’m the happiest man in the world.

“This has been the best day ever,” she tells me as we eat ice cream sandwiches at midnight, curled up together on the couch, all the lights in the house off so we can see the stars in the sky. “This is just so gorgeous.”

It is. But all I can see is her. “The most amazing view,” I agree, gazing at her profile.

She glances at me and grins. “Stop.”

“Never. You have a little….” I wipe a drop of ice cream from the corner of her lips with my thumb.

She catches my wrist with her free hand, holding me in place as she takes my thumb into her mouth. “Yummy.”

The sweet, gentle happiness in the middle of my chest right now has to be the best part of the weekend.

“I love you,” she whispers, her eyes big and luminous, better than any night sky. “I can’t wait until we can be together all the time.”

I press my forehead against hers. “Soon, sweet girl. Very soon.”

Chapter 13

Lily

I am on my best behavior for the entire month of November. We sneak away for Thanksgiving when everyone else leaves campus, anyway. It’s a reward for me not crawling into his bed on campus, and suddenly there are only three more weeks left in the term.

We’ve almost done it. By some small miracle, nobody has even caught a whiff of the secret connection between us. Of course, this moment, when everything actually feels safe and perfect and wonderful, is when the cracks appear.

Not in the form of my parents. Sebastian has kept his promise to me and put measures into place that ensure they stay far away. But in the unexpected form of a surprising discovery.

Stacey staring at Sebastian’s forearms during class.

I get it. He’s insanely hot.

But those aremyforearms to stare at, not hers, and she never has before.

Later that same day, we meet in the dining hall to have snacks and read over each other’s latest creative writing assignments.

“Can I tell you something?” Stacey asks.

I should sayno, don’t tell me, but I’ve never had a friend want to confide in me before. “Sure.”

She blushes. “It’s not school related.”

I shrug and stretch my legs out on the chair in front of me. “I can keep a secret.”
