Maya sighs. “But it’s romantic.”
“We’ll leave you alone,” Paisley says as she drags Maya away.
I face Lucas. “It’s possible Natalia has been watching too many movies.”
He rubs a hand over his jaw. “Actually.”
Chapter 37
I’m not a plumber but I can lay pipe, and I’ve got a big snake.
Several Months Later
Flynn
“Flynn!” Sophia screams and I rush to the bathroom in her apartment where we spent last night.
“What’s wrong?”
She sticks her head out of the shower. “The water went cold. I thought you fixed it.”
I reach past her to switch off the freezing cold water. “I did fix your bathroom.”
“If you fixed it, why am I standing here once again with shampoo in my hair freezing my butt off?”
“I don’t know. I need to have a look.”
I grasp her hips and haul her near.
“This is not you having a look,” she claims but her breath hitches and she shivers.
“Trust me. I’m looking.”
“My hair is dripping shampoo and I’m all wet.”
I nip her earlobe. “I enjoy it when you’re wet.”
“You know what I meant.” She slaps my shoulder. “What really happened to my water?”
“What do you mean?”
She rolls her eyes. “Don’t play innocent with me. I know you’re up to something.”
“What makes you think I’m up to something?”
“The twinkle in your eye, pirate man.”
“Maybe I’m happy to see you.” I press my hard length into her belly and her hands on my shoulders tighten.
“Flynn.” She glares at me. “What’s going on?”
“Maybe I wanted to recreate the day you barged back into my life.”
She frowns. “The day you reminded me I’m like your little sister? This isn’t how you treat a little sister.”
I growl. “Because you’re not my little sister. You’re the woman I love and I’m sick and tired of spending nights apart.”
“We haven’t spent a night apart since the Moonshine & Merriment Festival. Except for the night you went fishing with Weston and my dad.”
