I closed the door and removed the chain, swinging the door open. “Come in.”
Ethan stalked through the threshold. He wandered around the front room then my bedroom. Slowly, he walked toward me.
“What the fuck is going on?”
My face tightened. “No, you didn’t walk into my house demanding answers!”
His finger flew to his chest. “I’ve been worried sick! I didn’t want to drop by unannounced, but I needed to see with my own two eyes that you are ok.”
“Ethan, I told you I was fine.”
He stepped closer, running his hand over my cheek. “No, you didn’t. Shit, it’s cold in here.”
