I should have foreseen what was coming. Yet, even I was surprised by what came.

My mother was a week from being married, and my relationship with Connor had become…different, from what I had first assumed it would be. It was a testimony to our screwed up personalities that the game I continued of taunting and ignoring his demands, were rewarded with great sexual satisfaction.

In his office, on his desk.

In his car.

Even in the bathroom, of my own job site.

I couldn’t get enough of his sadistic need to “hurt” me, and the term “Pig” had become synonymous with ‘darling’ in my mind.

The pleasure of twisting him around my fingers and drawing him into my web could never dim.

This little, sad girl he’d enjoyed torturing in highschool now had his dick in her hands.

But I had made a mistake, like the one I made when I was younger.

Breathing hard, I cupped the back of his head, he’d called me out for lunch and we had ended up in the back-alley way. Our clothing far and away from the clean and pressed appearance they’d had when we had arrived at the restaurant

Staring up at the spinning sky over head, the blue color dazzling even in such a grim setting, my heart pounded as my legs were tightly wrapped around his waist. I was addicted to his smell, his twisted soul, and everything about him.

His every thrust always felt new and better, each time we fucked.

My lips parted as a wave hit me hard. “…I-I love you,” I whispered, my finger digging into his hair.

He stilled his eyes jerking to my face, and I saw it, the fear and the immediate retreat. He bared his teeth as he thrusted one last time, filling me with his seed. We stared into each other’s eyes for a moment before he pulled away lowering me to my feet. He didn’t say anything.

I watched him, not bothering to fix my appearance. “Are you afraid?”

His fists slammed into the wall near my head, his expression barely shifting as his cold eyes stared into mine. “Don’t ever fucking say that again,” he warned. Pulling his hand back, he roughly grabbed me by the neck shoving me back against the wall. “Nothing, Nothing! Fucking scares me.”

With that, he turned away from me and left me in the alley way.

I watched him leave before my attention turned to my phone in my purse. Kneeling, I grabbed it up and answered it.

“Hello?”

“Hi, love. It’s mom, can you come and help me?”

Watching Connor’s retreating back in silence, I finally answered her, “Yes sure, I’ll be there in a minute.”

“I don’t know if I should do this?”

I felt my eyes widen at my mother’s words, she looked at me from across her kitchen counter. She fidgeted with her fingers in front of her. “I-I mean aren’t I too old for this,” she waved in the air, encompassing her wedding I assumed. “I can’t even believe that Hunter truly wishes to marry me, he’s been great,” her expression turned slightly sad, “And yet I feel,” she paused finally meeting my gaze.

“I feel like any minute it will all crash at my feet…Like it did with your father.”

“Mr. Hunter isn’t my father,” I said with confidence, I crossed my legs. “Once dad got what he needed from you, he left. Hunter,” I sent her a knowing look, “has gotten a lot, and I’m sure he would’ve left, if he wanted to.”

She bit her lips, avoiding my eyes with embarrassment. “That’s true.”

“And yet he chooses you, he decided to ask for your hand in marriage, Mom,” I said with a false smile. “How can you run away from happiness just when you’re about to cinch the deal on it?”

Her brow creased as her lips puckered. “It’s just hard to believe that after all these years, I’ve earned being happy, and…I just can’t believe it’s come now.” She laughed reaching out, she rested a comforting hand over mine. “When we found out about your disorder, I thought you’d never be able to have friends, family, and all the things that come with being happy.” She shook her head, narrowing her eyes. “I’d decided then I’d give all my love to you, so even if you couldn’t understand it, or empathize with it--” she looked at me with every drop of maternal love within her--“You would know for a fact that I, I love you so very much, Latoya. You are everything to me, everything.”
