Jerome whispers in my ear the cost savings, and I’m glad to be able to report this news back to Marcus.
“When can I see these designs? I have to show them to the owner in two days.”
“Oh, okay. How about you come by my place tomorrow and I can go over a few that work with what I have in mind?” She writes her cell phone number on her business card and gives it to me.
“Is this not a work number?” I ask of the number imprinted on the front.
“Yes, it is. I figure with the deadline being so close, you’ll need to reach me twenty-four seven. I normally don’t give out my personal number.”
“Oh. Well, thank you for providing me full access to you.” I absentmindedly shake her hand and hold it while I gaze into her deep-brown eyes. The other people in the room fall away from my sight, leaving her the only one in view.
“You’re welcome, Mr. Philips. What time shall I expect you?” she says, pulling me back to reality.
“Oh, yeah. I should say around one. I will need to shore things up here first before coming over.”
“That’s great timing. My assistant will be running a few errands, so we will have the place to ourselves.”
I’m watching her mouth with every word spoken, and my desire for her continues to grow.
“Is there anything else, Mr. Phillips?”
“I’m impressed with the way you grabbed the reins of this task and I just can’t imagine why no one took a chance with you. Anyway, Darlene has your paperwork, and I will see you tomorrow.”
“Okay. See you then. Bye, Jerome and Mr. Delivery Guy.”
She giggles and, well, we already know what that does to me.
