“Yes, I am a singer,” I responded. My lips curled up into a smile.
“My boyfriend and I must come to hear you sing sometimes.”
“I would like that very much,” I responded and sipped on my drink.
“Hey Regina. I’m going to the restroom.”
“Okay, I’ll come with you,” she said, and we placed our glasses down on the bar. “We will catch you later, Trey and thanks for the drinks.”
“Yes, thanks for the drinks, Trey,” I smiled as my friend and I took off in the direction of the restroom.
“Are you having a good time so far?” Regina asked me when we entered the bathroom.
I walked over to the mirror to check if my lipstick was smudged before I answered. “Yes, your friend Trey seems nice. I just needed to stop thinking about Seth. Good thing Ashley walked in on us. A relationship would never have worked out between a womanizer like Seth and me anyway. From his reputation I don’t believe he would ever be capable of having a meaningful relationship.
“Come on. Are you ready to hit the dance floor?” Gina asked.
“Let’s do it,” I replied snapping out of my funk. Tonight, would be about me getting wasted and having some much needed fun with my best friend. I would handle the days to come one day at a time.
