She bit her bottom lip, hesitating, but for just a second.
“It was an invitation,” she finally answered.
My forehead wrinkled. “What kind of invitation?”
This time, she didn’t hesitate as she replied, “To spend the night with me.”
I tried to keep my face blank and play it cool when really, my heart rate had tripled and I’d broken out in an instant sweat.
“Consider the invitation accepted.”
She smiled, looking up at me from under those thick eyelashes of hers. Even in the low lighting that came courtesy of the streetlamps, her dark, smooth skin glistened. As did the shiny gloss on her lips.
I leaned in and kissed her, unable to help myself. Still, I managed to keep it brief.
“I just need to run home and get out of these clothes and return my roommate’s car. Give me an hour?”
Licking her lips, she nodded.
“An hour is fine.” She ran her fingers down my face before walking away. I watched as she got in her car and drove off.
After weeks of wanting to take Kelendria Towers to bed, it was finally about to go down.
I practically skipped to my car.
