“No, no… call me baby once more Roe.”
“Baby…” She said as she looked up at me and with that innocent look in her eye, I had never been more in love than I was at this moment.
I didn’t hesitate as my free hand reached on the side of her to unzip her dress. She shuddered as the tips of my fingers brushed her exposed skin. She was so beautiful to look at. Her skin felt like silk and I wanted to worship her body once more.
“I want you Monroe.” I said to her as I turned her slightly letting go of her hand as she faced away from me.
I leaned in only stopping when my lips felt the softness of her skin on them. I kissed her shoulder blade then slowly made my way up to her neck. She shuddered in my arms and I loved that I could be the one to make her feel this way.
“You have me Dom.” She whispered in this space with just us two.
“Damn baby. I love you.” I wasn’t ashamed to scream it to the world if she needed me to.
My fingertips danced all over her body until they made their way towards the straps of her dress. I slowly let them slip from her shoulders,
“I want to show you how it’ll be like for the rest of our lives, if you let me Roe.” I whispered as I kissed her bare shoulder.
Monroe threw her head back giving me the space to rain kisses all over her neck and half of her face.
“Dom…” She called me out as if I was a prayer on her lips, it was now or never.
“Marry me Roe,” I said as I turned her back to me letting her dress pool around her feet as she opened her eyes and looked at me.
“Are you serious Dominic?” The look in her eyes is one I will never forget. It was love, pure love that shined in her eyes when she looked at me. I had never been so in love or even so ready to spend the rest of my life with someone.
“I love you Monroe, I love you so much. I don’t think that ever changed between us. This time as we got older, it just made us love even harder, much purer than when we were kids. I can’t be without you now that we are with each other. I won’t ever want someone else more than I want you. I want to make my house a home with you. I want to make a legacy with you. So please marry me?”
As I said that last line, I reached into my pocket and got down on one knee taking my ring out that I had for her. I opened the burgundy velvet box and presented her with a ring that I thought fit her so well. I looked up at her as she stood there in only her lace panties and nothing else. She was trembling with her hand over her mouth, tears formed in her eyes and she hid behind her hands that covered her face.
“Baby? Say somethin’,” I begged her.
She began to sob loudly as if someone had kicked her dog, I stood up reaching out to her and removing her hands from her face. She looked up at me,
“Dom… You are the best thing to have ever happened to me. I love you so much,” She got on the tip of her toes and hugged me.
I chuckled,
“Is that a yes baby?” She nodded her head giving me her answer. “Let me put this ring on you love, you know make it official?”
“Right!” She laughed, and I fell more in love with her.
Monroe removed her hands from around my neck backing up as she offered me her trembling left hand. I smiled widely as I put the ring on her finger knowing that I will never give her a chance or a reason to take it off.
“I love you Roe.” I leaned down kissing the princess cut ring on her finger and then I pulled her into me. She was mine forever.
“I love you too Dominic Harley.”
