Epilogue

Monroe

The week went by in a blur and each day I was more nervous, so nervous because Dom had us packing to go to the Netherlands. I didn’t have much to pack at first and then Dom bought me more clothes and accessories. It threw me off, but he told me to get used to it. I smile every time I look at him and realize that he is my childhood best friend who loved me as I was and never made me feel less than. I swallowed nervously as we were in the limo driving up to his family castle.

I looked over at Dom and he was dressed like a Disney prince with his princely attire, it made me all bubbly inside to see how beautiful he looked and that he was able to pull anything off.

“Don’t look at me like that baby, I don’t have time to make you feel good right now. We’ll be late and as the prince, I can’t afford to be late.” He turned to look at me with a smile on his face and all I could do was giggle.

I bit my lip as I smoothed over my yellow strapless dress that reached my ankles. It was tight on top then it freely flowed. My hair was tamed, up in a bun that had some yellow hair pins in them and the make-up artist gave me a light, very natural look. I breathed in and then out as the limo stopped in front of the biggest castle, I had ever laid my eyes on.

“You ready baby?” Dom asked me. My mouth was too dry to answer, I heard as his door opened and then shut.

My heart was beating faster than anything and I shut my eyes thinking this was too much, but then I remembered us. I remembered falling asleep in Dominic’s arms after his mom’s funeral and then I remembered waking without him there. I never want that feeling again. He told me one thing before I fell asleep that night again and now it made its way to me,

“You will always be the one for me Roe. No one else will ever take your place. No matter where you are, I will always find you and bring you back to me. I swear it.”

Oh God! I was going to cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. My door opened, and I looked up to see my handsome fiancée as he smiled down at me, his hand outstretched towards me,

“You ready for your future Roe?” He asked me one more time and this time, my mouth wasn’t dry.

“Yes.”

“Good,” He said as I placed my hand in his and got out of the limo. I looked at the front entrance of the castle where his family stood waiting for us.

I looked at Dom and he looked down at me with a smile on his face filled with a joy I had never seen before.

“Welcome home Monroe, where you will always belong.”

The End.
