I took a good look at Monroe, her body had filled in. When she was younger, yes, her body was filling in but now, she was a full- blown woman from her hips, to her waist all the way up to her ample breasts. Her big brown almond shaped eyes were forever my weakness and I discovered rather quickly that they still were. I watched in silence as her face went from pure joy to sadness as Estelle whispered something in her ear. A feeling of protectiveness washed over me, and I wanted to yell at Estelle for putting that expression on Roe’s face. I watched as Jared walked up to her and I didn’t like the way he stood close to her or that he pulled her in for a hug.
Her full mane of hair that I never had the pleasure of seeing or touching, was in its full glory and my fingers burned to touch, grasp and fist her hair. I wanted to pull her to me by her hair and make her look me in the eye as I leaned down to tongue the hell out of those plump lips. Damn! I temporarily shut my eyes not liking the affect she had on me already. I never stopped wanting Roe. When she began to introduce herself, I couldn’t help it as I completed her sentence as if we were kids again.
“Roe…” I called her name as if it was a prayer.
I opened my eyes just in time to see her look at me. Our eyes connected, and a fire ignited in my body at the way she took me in. She drank me in like I was the first sight of any water in a desert. Take me in baby. I wanted her to see what I had transformed into, I was no longer that little boy that left without so much as a goodbye, I was now a man, a man who planned on having her just from seeing her all grown up.
I expected her to run but she hadn’t. Instead, she smiled and waved at me.
“Dominic Harley? Is that you? Well dammit, I haven’t seen you in years. How are you?” She asked sounding like someone’s granny.
I fought hard not to smile but I ended up smiling anyway at her way of saying hello. I stood up and walked over to her. Was she always this small?
“Miss Rodricks.” I said as I stepped up stopping right in front of her and looking down. She was so little.
I realized how much larger I had gotten compared to her, she seemed to have stayed the same. She didn’t hesitate as a big smile spread across her face and she rushed me, circling her arms around my waist, hugging me. I wanted to hug her back, but I was caught off guard, as I went to hug her back, Estelle pulled her out of my grasp and whispered something that widened her eyes. Roe stepped back even further away from me, she turned to look at Estelle and nodded her head. She gave me, Jared and Estelle a small smile as she grabbed her suitcase walking out of the restaurant.
“Where is she going?” I turned to look at Estelle.
“Her hotel. She’ll join us tomorrow for brunch.” She said nonchalantly.
My brows furrowed.
“Okay? Is she not staying with you guys?”
Estelle scrunched her face up.
“No. We don’t have the space.”
My brows shot up in shock. Estelle and Jared had more than enough room to accommodate Roe so why the hell was she acting like that? I wanted to press on, but Jared shook his head no and I realized, it was none of my damn business. I decided to go make sure Monroe got into the taxi safely. When I arrived outside, she shut the door to the yellow cab and it took off before I got a chance to ask her where she was staying.
