“Don’t tell anyone, please,” she begged. “Especially Ruby.”

Tears rolled down her face, and I hugged her despite her being covered in Marrok’s blood.

“We won’t- you have our word.”

“You’re so good to Ruby,” she said. “Please be patient with my daughter and mark her for her own safety.”

“Yes, Wayne’s already marked her,” confirmed Rufus. “You have nothing to worry about. We will do our part on the wedding day.”

“Thank goodness,” she said, smiling through her tears. “Let’s go home. Did anyone bring a car?”

Ruby

Amonth later, we decided to have a small wedding after Wayne healed completely.

None of us wanted our wedding to be tainted by the memory of Marrok. But this time around, I wanted the wedding to be on my father’s ranch, and our guests were strictly family and close friends.

So here I was, standing at the altar before my four alphas and the officiant. My heart was beating in excitement as Davy went first, reading his vows to me.

“Ruby, you are the kindest person I’ve ever met,” Davy began, his voice soft. “Your warmth and kindness have made me a stronger alpha. I promise to cherish you and stand by you for all our days.”

I felt tears prickling at the corners of my eyes as I looked into Davy’s sincere gaze.

“Do you, Davy, take Ruby as your bride?” the officiant asked, his eyes glowing as he gazed upon us. I smiled, turning to look at Davy.

“I do,” said Davy without hesitation as he slipped a small diamond band over my finger.

“Do you, Ruby, take Davy of the Crawford Pack as your husband?”

“I do,” I said, my voice tiny in comparison. I surprised him with a black ring that I carefully placed on his finger.

Davy’s eyes widened. “You got me a ring?”

“Yes, I love you,” I replied smilingly. He leaned in and kissed me tenderly as the small crowd cheered. After we kissed, I glanced at the guests’ faces. I saw my mother crying and smiling – a sight I hadn’t seen in far too long.

“I love you too, baby,” said Davy.

“Davy will now mark his bride,” the officiant announced, and my heart pounded in anticipation. Davy took my hand and bit gently at my inner wrist. The bite burned, but as the connection between us flowed, it felt right. He licked the small wound, soothing the pain, and I felt the familiar arousal pool between my legs.

Then it was Rufus next. He took my hands in his, his intense gaze locking with mine.

The pain from Davy’s mark still lingered, but at that moment, all I could feel were Rufus’s warm hands over mine. As he recited his vows, his voice cracked.

“I promise to always protect you with my body to the best of my ability. You were taken twice from me, and that will never happen again,” he said, his eyes shining with unshed tears. It was the first time I had seen him so vulnerable, and I reached up to touch his cheek. “I love you so fucking much, Ruby.”

“I love you too,” I said softly. “I’m just so happy to be standing here finally. I can’t wait to be your wife, best friend, and lover.”

Taking a ring from the officiant, I slipped a gray ring onto his finger. It took a couple of seconds because his finger was so thick, but I finally managed to get it on with shaking hands.

“Rufus, you may now mark your bride and mark her as your omega,” said the officiant.

I bit my lip as Rufus hesitated, his eyes scanningthe crowd.

“The intended spot where I wish to mark my omega is not suitable for public viewing,” he said, and I gasped, covering my mouth at how blunt he was.

The officiant summoned a few betas over, who held a red curtain around us to shield us from the crowd.
