“Whoa, that’s crazy,” I said and quickly closed the bag again out of fear. Ruston laughed at my sudden reaction. “It’s a shark! This isn’t normal.”

“I have to show you something,” said Chad, holding his hand out. I carefully took it, not trusting him. He led me out of the room while the other alphas followed closely behind us. They were cracking jokes and feeling good now that the mood was a lot lighter.

“What are you going to show me?” I asked him.

“My second bedroom,” he said. “Not many people know about it, but I want to show you.”

He suddenly swung open a door, and all I noticed was blue around me as I walked inside. I gasped when I saw the giant glass tanks covering the room in a circle from floor to ceiling. There was a variety of sea life swimming behind the glass, including sharks.

“What the…?!” I said, awestruck as I stood there with my mouth dropped open. He had an entire aquarium down here that I had never seen.

Chapter Twenty-Two

BREANNA

“Do you like it, babe?”

“It’s beautiful,” I said, walking toward the glass to get a closer look. I loved the underwater world, and I couldn’t help but watch the tropical fish for a few minutes. “I wish I had this. What made you create this aquarium?”

“I’m a marine biologist,” said Chad, wrapping a hand around my waist. “I love the creatures of the deep.”

“And you decided to create a whole aquarium?”

He laughed, “I guess so. Look what I have for you here.”

I followed him deeper into the room and saw a circle of sheer curtains surrounding a large circular cushion on the ground covered in furry blue blankets. My eyes widened when I saw it.

It looked like a nest they had prepared for their future omega.

I started to back away slowly, but Zaff held my hand.

“What’s wrong, Bree?”

“Um, that’s not for me, right?” I asked.

“It is,” he said.

“But I’m human.”

“We won’t force you to go inside it,” he said gently. “But you are more than welcome to because it’s yours.”

My heart started palpitating as I looked at it. For some reason, a part of my soul was drawn towards it, and I imagined snuggling in there with the alphas for a brief moment. But that couldn’t happen.

“I’ll show you where we’re going to put your little shark egg,” interrupted Chad, pulling my other hand in his as he led me towards a small individual tank in the massive room in the corner. It was lit up with a small lamp above it, and I gasped at the beautiful purple plants he’d chosen to decorate the tank with.

The water inside looked like it was glowing.

He very gently set the shark egg inside it, and I watched with satisfaction as it slowly sank to the bottom.

“Aww, he’s going to be so cozy inside,” I said, still unable to believe a colossal shark would grow from that tiny egg.

“He will,” said Chad.

“Alright, enough of this,” grunted Oscar impatiently from behind me, and I couldn’t help but giggle. “Why don’t we let Bree wear the gift I got for her?”

I blushed at the thought, but all the men muttered in agreement.

“I would love to see you wear it,” said Zaff, close to my ear. “And don’t take off the jewelry I gave you.”
