She thought about that for a moment and shook her head.

“No, we need to leave,” she said. “Sweetie, I know you love your job and everything, but things have to come to an end.”

“Please hear me out,” I begged her. “We should get some help, and we can see how it works out. If all the activity stops, that’s good, right?”

“Yeah, I guess. But…”

“But if we move somewhere else, they’ll just find us again, and this time, we’re completely vulnerable with no protection at all,” I emphasized.

I had no idea why I was dying to stay with the alphas. Butsomething in my gut told me that it was the right thing to do. I couldn’t bear to part with them.

“Fine, but if the howling and chaos don’t stop, we’re still in trouble,” my aunt said. Then she turned to the bodyguards. “Do you even have guns on you?”

“Yes, ma’am,” said one of them, peering at her through his sunglasses. “It’s hidden, so we don’t scare anyone in the neighborhood.”

“Show me,” she demanded, and I rolled my eyes at her. Sometimes, she could be too much, but at the same time, she cared a lot.

“Right here,” he said, lifting the gun from a concealed secret pocket of his.

She looked approvingly at it with a hawkish expression, and I couldn’t help but laugh at my aunt’s antics.

“None of you are allowed to come inside, got it?” she said. “Even though I could use some men around me.”

“Trust me, we won’t,” he answered, amused.

Letting out a sigh of relief, I walked into the house and poured out a small bowl of soup. I felt guilty as I drank the soup. Because if she knew what I wastrulydoing to get this type of protection for us, she would be livid.

Chapter Twelve

BREANNA

Throughout the night, I woke up restless, thinking about alphas’ knots and how it would feel like. I always fantasized about it but never thought it would ever happen to me.

So naturally, I barely got any rest.

I was glad to see that it was finally morning, but I was way up before my alarm. My aunt was still sleeping, so I slowly rummaged around the trailer, looking for a decent outfit to wear after my shower.

During the night, we didn’t hear a single wolf howl, so Zaff’s bodyguards might have been doing their job right. Peeking out the window, I saw that they had gone after their night shift. I had no idea if I was even doing the right thing getting into this kind of agreement with four hungry alphas.

In the shower, I thought about how horny I was all night. I decided not to masturbate in the shower at all, and instead, I’d see what the alphas had to offer me. I quickly put on my clothes while still very pent-up with arousal. I took a longer time putting on makeup than usual. I couldn’t believe they’d want an average woman like myself, but oh well.

While straightening my hair, I saw my phone light up with a text message from Ruston. Confused, I checked my phone:

We’re going to the beach today. Dress appropriately.

I was so confused, but a flutter of excitement rushed through me. Instead of wearing leggings today, I needed to find a dress and a hat.Shit, I didn’t have sunscreen. I would have gone shopping yesterday if I had known their plans for today.

I finished straightening my hair and was putting on the last touches of makeup, carefully trying not to poke myself in the eye with the mascara wand.

“Good morning,” my aunt said, dragging her feet into slippers and making her way to the kitchen.

“Morning,” I said.

“You sound chipper today,” she said, pouring water into the coffee maker.

“The howls outside stopped.”

“Hmm, you’re actually right,” she said. “I didn’t hear them either. No wonder I had the best sleep of my life.”
