I hadn’t been planning on showing him them yet because it seemed like jumping the gun, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
“I will.” Worrying about my feelings seemed to give him the energy to sit up. “I like your surprises.”
With his nap getting further out of reach, I focused on getting him up and dry before he changed his mind about the wholemoving for a rewardthing. I actually managed to get him dried off before he realized we’d left the bubbles behind, but I was prepared for a pout.
“I can’t wait to show you my surprise.” Kissing his nose as I wrapped the towel around him, I barely took time to wrap one around my own waist before I moved us away from the tempting tub. “It’s on the bed. Did you see it when we came in?”
“No.” Milo cocked his head like the question was confusing, but he was tired enough that I’d have been surprised if he’d even noticed the bed, much less the stack of goodies.
“Let’s go see what I have for you.” The best thing about having money was the ability to get anything delivered at any time of day. “Just a few steps.”
“I think…” He paused and looked around the room like he’d never seen it before. “I think I’m tired.”
Oh yeah.
“Then I’m going to get you comfy and you can relax.” I wasn’t sure if he knew he was exhausted but he was well past tired.“You already told me what time you have to get up tomorrow, so you’re done thinking. Everything else is up to Daddy.”
