A few minutes later, I park in front of her apartment complex. I get out of my vehicle and slam the door shut before locking it with my key fob.

Irritated that I have to be here in the first place, I walk inside the building and take the small elevator up to the third floor.

I knock on her apartment door, and a few seconds later, Buck, her roommate, opens it.

“Hey, you again,” he slurs. “Here to see Wren?”

“Yup.” I don’t wait for him to invite me in, or even worse, rope me into small talk. I push myself past him into the living room.

Buck doesn’t seem to care much. He closes the door behind us and sits back on his couch to watch TV. I make my waythrough the tiny apartment into Wren’s room. I don’t bother knocking. I simply turn the knob and push the door open.

Her room looks empty. I’ll give her that much. There are no more drawings or paintings on the white walls. I find her lying curled up in her bed with her eyes closed, but they fly open when she realizes someone is invading her space.

“What are you doing here?” she asks with a raspy voice laced with sleep.

“I told you to move into the dorm.”

“I tried.” She points at the half-packed suitcase in the corner of the room. “My car wouldn’t start this morning, and I’m on my period.” She says it like it explains everything.

“So? Get an Uber or walk. I told you to do something, and I expect you to do it.”

“Can we not do this today, please? I really don’t feel well.” She sits up slowly, and I realize she is holding a heating pad to her stomach. “It’s just the first day. Tomorrow, I’ll be up for your tormenting me again.”

“Sorry you don’t get vacation days. Get up and finish packing.”

“Ugh,” she groans loudly, throwing her hands up in the air. “Fine, asshole.” She throws her electric heating pad next to her on the bed and gets up with a huff. I watch her scurry around in nothing but a tiny pair of shorts and a thin T-shirt, while she stuffs her things in the suitcase before zipping it up.

She huffs again, probably realizing that all of her clothes are in the suitcase now. She unzips the thing again in anger, pulls out some jeans shorts, a bra, and a shirt before pausing. She looks at me over her shoulder, and I give her a megawatt smile.

“Go on… I’ve seen you naked.” I shrug, excited for the show.

She turns her back to me once more before stripping out of her sleep wear until she is in nothing but a black pair of panties that look a little too big on her. She quickly gets dressed in theclothes she laid out. Then she stuffs her jammies in her luggage and zips it up again.

“Happy?” She huffs.

“I’ll be happier if you had stayed naked and had your lips wrapped around my cock, but you seem in a biting mood right now, so maybe we’ll wait till later.”

“Good choice,” she mumbles while putting on her flip flops. She grabs a large tote bag from beside her bed and stuffs her blanket and heating pad inside before flinging it over her shoulder. She snatches the pillow from the bed and props it under her arm. “I’m ready.”

“Finally.” I get up from the bed. “Here, let me help you with this.” I pull the pillow from under her arm and push it under mine.

“What a gentleman,” she says sarcastically, and I wink at her.

I watch her drag her heavy suitcase across the floor and out of her room.

“I’m sorry again for the short notice, Buck,” she tells her ex-roommate on the way out.

“No worries, darlin’. You take care of yourself now.” Buck gets up from his couch to engulf Wren in a big bear hug.

I don’t like it. My chest tightens and my hands ball into fists, ready to fight the dickhead off. What the fuck is that about? All he is doing is hugging her.

“Time to go,” I urge. He releases her, but not quick enough for me. I’d rather he didn’t touch her at all. She is my toy and mine alone.

Wren gives me a look like she is annoyed with me, but I ignore it, waving toward the door like I’m suddenly in a hurry. She rolls her eyes at me, but drags her suitcase behind her and out the door.

“We’re taking the elevator,” I announce.

“I’m not. You can.” She shakes her head. “I’m not going into that death trap. You know how old this building is? That elevator is the same age.”
