I turn to him. “You’re right; I am spoiled.”

“And it’s deserved. I want to spoil you for the rest of our lives.”

I become giddier the closer we get to our destination, and I lean against Foster as we drive to the resort. We arrive at Bella Providenciales Resort a few minutes later, the driver pulling up underneath a covered driveway attached to a white and pink stone structure.

“Where’s the villa?” I question.

“We’ll be taken there by golf cart.”

The driver nods at us as another attendant pulls up to the SUV with a pink three-seat golf cart with an attached cart for our bags. He helps the drive load our suitcases onto it as Foster and I wait in the cart. The route is a white gravel road flanked by colorful tropical plants and large palms which provide some shade from the hot sun. Further out are the white sand beaches of the resort, meeting the blue of the Caribbean.

The first thing I notice when we pull up to our villa is that it’s almost all windows. White drapes are drawn, preventing us from seeing inside. The driver unloads our bags and leads us to the double front doors, where he places the cases down so he can unlock the door using the keypad.

Inside, the villa is light and airy, with high ceilings and exposed rafters. Foster tips the driver, and after he leaves, my husband takes me in his arms and passionately kisses me.

After untangling myself, I tell him, “This place is magnificent,” as I walk over to the drapes and open them to reveal a lanai that looks out onto our private strip of beach. Two white loungers are set in the sand, waiting for us to occupy them. Foster unlocks the sliders and moves the wall of glass over to let the ocean breeze inside.

“I love this,” I gush. “Thank you.”

“Would you like to get changed?”

“Yes, but I want it to be a surprise.”

Foster raises his eyebrows. “Fine. I’ll change in one of the other bedrooms. Satisfied?”

“Very.”

He brings my bag to the master bedroom, which has two walls of glass. One faces the ocean and the other the courtyard along with our private rectangular pool. This is paradise.
