“I’ll be leading the meeting. There’s nothing to get upset about.”

Foster straightens his tie, kisses my cheek, and turns on his heel. I sag against the counter. Stupid me, why didn’t I keep my big mouth shut?

I spend the morning reviewing as much information in the four files Mark piled on my desk. Foster is buying a piece of property with four dilapidated buildings that were to be torn down to build condos and commercial spaces. The property has a view of the ocean, and once the complex is built, each unit would bring in quite a bit of money.

By the time Foster comes to get me, my head is spinning, and a dull ache is forming behind my eyes.

“Ready?” he questions.

“Not even close. I should stay here.”

Foster walks further into the room, shuts the door, then occupies the chair in front of my desk. “I need you.”

I laugh sarcastically. “You don’t need me. I’ve seen you command a meeting. You transfix people.”

He smirks maddeningly. “Are you?”

“You know I am.”

“I need your emotional support,” he admits. “You calm me.”

“Thank God someone does,” I mumble.

“I heard that. Should I spank you for that remark?”

I cough, choking on my saliva. “Excuse me?”

“Spank you. You’re naughty.”

“For speaking my mind?”

“You’re making me hard,” he confides.

I glare, whispering, “I wasn’t aware of your deviant ways.”

“You haven’t begun to see my deviant ways. Now stop talking about this before I take you on your desk.”

I chuckle, tapping my watch. “We’ll be late for lunch.”

“Fuck lunch if I can fuck you; they’ll wait.”

I shake my head. “You can’t fuck me. I don’t want you to get me dirty.”

He clears his throat as he straightens his tie. “Too late, dear wife. You already are a dirty girl. I know your secrets.”

“Can we go before I take you up on your offer?”

“There’s no time, but we can always do something in the limo,” he offers.

My core clenches, and suddenly, my legs go weak, thinking about Foster fucking me on the ride over. I’ve become a slave to his lovemaking—craving him, especially during inappropriate times. I’ve never desired a man more than him, which was strange given that I couldn’t stand him in the beginning.

Foster helps me into my jacket even though I don’t think I need it. May had come in with a rush of warmth and sun.

“I like this dress,” he compliments. “You look lovely.”

I peer down at what I chose to wear. It is dark blue with white polka dots, and I keep the scoop neckline buttoned even though I want to open at least one. I don’t want to be the focus, as Foster requested.

He keeps his arm around me as we descend to the lobby. As I thought, it is too warm for my jacket, and I remove it as we get outside to the limo.
