She starts biting her thumbnail harder and looks at the floor.

“It was towards the end of our relationship. I met Hunter on Fire Island before Memorial Day, and well, one thing led to another. He’s so hot, too.”
“And now?”
“Now we’re just friends. We talk all the time.”

“He’s good. He should be coming to New York in July.”

“Megan, I barely dated in high school.”

“You could have dated if you wanted to. All my male friends were in love with you.”
“That’s nice to know since they were all three and a half years younger than me.”
“I’m sure plenty of guys your age wanted to go out with you.”
