“Max,” Aiden warns. Max turns and walks away, still laughing.

“I like him,” I playfully say, knowing it’ll get Aiden more revved up.

He walks up to me, cupping my head. He lowers his mouth to my ear and whispers, “Mine” before slowly kissing my neck. His other hand wraps around my lower back and pulls me into him. His assault on my neck has my nerve endings tingling all over my body, which causes me to shiver. My hands grab onto his arms, holding myself up before I melt from his touch. He brings his lips to mine and bites my bottom lip before attacking my mouth. It’s a possessive, dominant kiss. I moan into his mouth. It’s over as soon as it started. My breathing is heavy, needy. “Don’t. Forget. It,” he rasps before grabbing my hand and pulling me toward the plane.

Mmm… jealous Aiden is hot!

Chapter Forty-three

BY THE TIME we make it to the hangar, jealous Aiden is gone. His excitement is back. I look over and see Max messing with a plane, holding what looks to be a checklist.

“Are we going up in that plane?” I ask, wondering where he might be taking me.

“Yep,” Aiden responds, guiding me toward the hangar.

“Is Max flying us?”

“Yep.” He flashes an amused smirk.

I’m about to ask another question when we walk into a room. Jumpsuits hang on the wall. Aiden walks up to one and grabs it, handing it to me. “Put this on.” My eyes go wide, looking from the plane to Aiden and back as it dawns on me what we’re about to do. He’s standing still, holding onto the jumpsuit, assessing my reaction and waiting for a response.

“You want me to jump out of that plane?” My voice comes out high pitched as I motion to the plane. My heart is beating so loudly, I’m sure he can hear it. I’m not sure if I’m nervous or excited.

“Yes. With me,” he says confidently. My eyes dart around the room, back out to the plane. “Addison, look at me,” he commands softly. I gaze up at him, concern now in his eyes. He cups my face with one hand, stroking my cheek with his thumb. His touch helps settle my nerves. I lean into his hand and close my eyes momentarily. When I open them, I let out a long, slow breath. “That’s it, breathe. Sorry, I should’ve prepared you instead of surprising you. I just thought—”

“Shh,” I say as I put my finger to his lips. “It’s okay. I can do this.” I softly smile. He pulls me into his chest. The heat of his body relaxes me. It always surprises me how fast my body willingly submits to Aiden. Nobody has ever had this effect on me before.

I step back out of Aiden’s arms and take the jumpsuit from his hands. I stand there and watch him put his on, leaving the top hanging off his waist. He pulls out a bag and grabs a T-shirt. When he pulls off his polo, I can’t help but purr. My eyes follow his taut chest down to his perfect six-pack abs, moving to his delectable, chiseled V. I bite my bottom lip as I drink him in.

Damn, he’s gorgeous.

He starts to put his shirt on but I interrupt. “Wait.” I walk up to him and run my hands along his stomach up to his chest. He grabs my hands and holds them in place.

“Addison,” he warns.

“Sorry, you’re just too distracting. Don’t get naked in front of me if you don’t want me to attack you.” I smirk as I nip his nipple and step back out of his reach. I turn away to regain my control.

I put on my jumpsuit before I turn back around; thankfully, Aiden’s put a shirt on. He smiles and winks when I sigh. Pull your shit together, Addison, you’re going to be jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and need to know what the hell you’re doing.

Aiden puts on my harness and shit just got real. I’m really doing this. Inside, my stomach is doing summersaults. He tells me what I’m supposed to do when we jump. Cross arms, lift legs, head back against his shoulder. Sounds easy enough. He goes over hand signals and what’s going to happen the whole time. He wants me to repeat what I’m supposed to do to make sure I wasn’t distracted.

Ha ha, funny man.

I look out the window watching Max mess with the plane while Aiden checks his gear. “So, how many times have you done this?” I ask.

“Thousands, baby. Don’t worry. I’ve got you,” he says confidently. I’m surprised to hear how many jumps he’s done. I turn around and lean against the window, tilting my head, studying him. I can tell he’s going over a checklist in his head. His strong hands work efficiently, checking all the lines, attachments, and everything else I have no idea about. When he finishes, he looks up at me, catching me study him. He smiles and walks over, pulling me in a hug. “I’ve jumped too many times to count, but I’ve never been more excited than I am to jump with you right now. I’m so glad you didn’t say no,” he says, squeezing me tighter. My heart swells.

“I’m so happy that you brought me. I’m excited. Nervous as hell, but excited.” I smile against his chest. He chuckles as he kisses the top of my head.

We’re walking out to the plane hand in hand wearing really uncomfortable harnesses and jumpsuits. I hum “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins from Top Gun. Aiden throws his head back, laughing.

“What?” I say, smiling a wide grin.

“You’re so awesome.” He laughs, shaking his head. “And you look fucking hot in that jumpsuit.” He slaps my ass.

I elbow him. “I told you what would happen with that hand,” I warn. Max has been watching us walk up and hears my last statement, causing him to laugh out loud.

“I like her already.” Max smirks. “If you both are ready, let’s head up.”
