Page 49 of Knot Her Fight

Oh.

Shit.

“The fuck?” I bark at Spencer. He’s standing in the hall, holding our limp omega around the waist like she’s a corpse and he’s trying not to get his ugly-ass blazer dirty. When he doesn’t answer me, I realize he’s holding his breath.

Which I suddenly understand—because good fucking God.

Serena’s perfume is so mind-meltingly perfect, the cock I spent last night repeatedly draining instantly hardens into steel again. My knot pulses while my dick kicks up, almost busting through my boxers.

Some foreign sense of urgency snaps through my body. I reach for her right away. The totally un-fucking-familiar feeling of relief vibrates inside my bones the second I touch her. My injured, inked fingers curl around her jaw and lift her bleary eyes to mine.

“Serena?” I murmur, pulling her into my body and bundling her against my chest with my free arm. “What’s wrong, baby?”

She whines softly, nuzzling her hot little cheek against my palm, then my naked chest. Scent-marking.

Fuck. Me.

I’m down bad. And this girl has barely even spoken to me yet.

In fact, I need to ask her what the hell is up with that shit. Talking to Jonah before she talks to me? Not cool.

Nothing we can do about that right now, though. Because my little kitten seems to be having trouble standing, let alone speaking.

I swear to God, if Spence hurt her or scared her, I will use that stupid elbow-patch blazer to mop his blood off my walls.

When I glare at him, he snarls right back, outraged. “I didn’t do anything. She’s in a heat-spike! She needs?—”

She just fucking needs. I can smell it. Feel it.

Adrenaline spikes in my blood, the way I only feel right before I step into the ring. It’s pumping through my body now, though, sharpening every sense.

Spencer’s throat catches. “You,” he chokes out. “She needs you.”

Because he can’t do it, I see, noticing the way his eyes don’t quite make it up to mine. He isn’t ready to touch her yet. Especially not the way my girl needs to be touched right now.

We’re a pack. This is what we do, right? Help each other and shit? Make up for each other’s issues?

“I got it,” I tell him, nodding.

Serena whines again, nuzzling closer. Spencer’s gaze flickers over her while he hesitates, opening his mouth and then closing it again.

I raise a brow. “You wanna watch or something, teach?”

He snaps straight, puffing up defensively. “No. No. I need to go. Call me when she’s… stable.”

Call him after I make her come until she passes out.

Got it.

As I start to close the door, he claws it back open. This time, his dark eyes flash at me. “Remember: no knotting. We don’t know what she’s been through, and she can’t consent like this.”

Jesus. Do I really come off like this much of an asshole?

I roll my eyes. “Knotting on the first date is just bad manners, Spence.”

He doesn’t look convinced.

That’s fair. Bad manners are sort of my thing.
