“You okay?” he asked, pulling me into his side.

I nodded. “Yeah, don’t worry.”

After he felt reassured, he turned his attention back to his fans. “What are you doing out here so late? It’s freezing you’ll catch your death from the cold.”

“We love you, Jamie,” several called out at various times, while others with no understanding of the English language forced concert programs or album covers into his hand for him to sign, talking rapidly in French. He let me go and obliged, but with each signature he glanced in my direction to check I was still alright.

“Okay, that’s it, we need to get inside. DistRoyed still have a tour to finish so I’ve got to protect my vocal chords from the cold,” he told them, giving them a valid excuse why he should remain in the minus degree temperature of the snow covered street.

Felix cleared a path to the hotel door and Jamie ushered us inside and it was then that I realized that to his genuine fans who loved what he did, I had been invisible.

“Right, let me get back to that moment we were sharing in that minibus before I was so rudely interrupted?” he demanded playfully, pushing me against the wall with his body and caging me in between his arms, the moment we entered our suite. As his warm sensual hands crept up both outer thighs, I sighed into his mouth when it closed in on mine.

“You threatened to give them a public show,” I replied in an amused tone.

“I did, didn’t I?” he chuckled and pressed his lips to mine. “Fuck, Daisy, this time isn’t enough,” he mumbled, his lips pecking a trail from my mouth to my neck. A shiver ran down my spine and I sagged against his hard body. “Why don’t you quit your job, I need you with me.”

I’ll admit with his hands and mouth trailing over my skin, his offer was almost tempting. Had I not already committed to my family’s project with the bars, I know I’d have given in.

“You know that’s not what we agreed, Jamie, no matter how appealing your offer sounds.”

He sighed, “I know, that wasn’t fair, I just… miss you when you’re not here.”

My eyes softened as I reached up and held his wrists. “I feel it too, maybe even more than you do. All those women constantly wanting to take my place. You must know the strength I have to muster to say I can’t leave my business and make you happy.”

“Baby, it’s because you’re so grounded, I’m with you. You make me respect you. No other woman has ever made me wait, made me come second to anything else.”

“It’s not that you’re second. Not at all. As a man, you’re everything to me. Do you know how many times we’ve finished a call and I’ve bawled my eyes out because we’re not together and that call was all we had.”

His hands left the wall and cradled my head. “Summer… when Poppy’s home, promise me we’ll spend the summer together. I want six weeks. Will you give me that?”

“Six weeks is a huge ask when the second pub will barely be open—”

Jamie placed his fingers over my lips. “A month, no less,” he demanded, starting intently into my eyes.

“A month, I agreed. Won’t you be out of your contract by then?”

“I will, and if you spend a month with me in the US, I’ll take you back to Ireland and spend a month with you.”

“Promise?” I asked, excitedly. The thought of two entire months together would give us both time to know that we really were compatible. It would be a challenge I’d gladly take. Sometimes I thought our relationship may feel too idyllic because we didn’t have enough time together to disagree about anything.

“Promise. July 1 you land in California. Is that a deal?”

I did a quick calculation in my head, but even though I wasn’t totally sure of the timeline for the training for a franchise owner I nodded. “It’s a deal.”

“Perfect, you’ve just made my day,” Jamie said, dipping and scooping me up into his arms. Kissing again and again, we stared at each other as he wandered into the bedroom with me and sat me gently on the bed.

Grabbing the hem of his T-shirt, he drew it over his head, bunched it up and threw it on a chair.

“Wanna shower with me? I didn’t have time after the gig.”

“Hm, do I want to shower with a sinful looking rock star? I suppose I could be persuade—” I squealed when Jamie shoved me back on the bed, rolled me over and lifted the back of my skirt.

“What the hell did you think you were doing roaming around debauched rock stars without panties?” he asked, spanking my bare arse and sounding stern.

I giggled into the duvet when I remembered how Lottie had fooled me with her extra underwear. I was still laughing when I felt him undo the button and pull down my skirt’s zipper. Effortlessly pulled me to stand against him and shoved my skirt to the floor. He spun me around, locked my eyes in his dark lusty stare and lifted me up onto his body.

“Legs,” he said, tapping for me to wrap them around his bare waist. I did and his warm breath ghosted my face before his lips met mine in a hot, hungry kiss that eclipsed all others he’d given me all day.
