“Oh right. Big business owner and all,” he says sarcastically.

I’m happy to be away from that. From someone who thought that my book store was a hobby and not a business. He doesn’t appreciate the written word, or for reading. So of course, he wouldn’t understand.

“Colin.” I say sternly.

“Right, well I haven’t seen you and I was wondering what was going on?”

“What’s going on? Dude, you cheated on me and I walked in on you with your pants down.”

“Yeah, about that. That was a one off,” he shrugs off.

“I don’t care what that was, you were with another woman. Dick deep. Unprotected dick deep. So, I’ve been up to getting on with my life without you.”

“That’s a bit harsh, and I was using protection. I didn’t want her to get pregnant or anything.”

He’s acting like him cheating on me is just a simple task of his day, something that’s no big deal. I’m annoyed and really don’t want to have any more conversation with him than I really need to.

“Listen, if there’s nothing else. I should go,” I say placing my hands on the side of the chair and lifting.

“What am I to do with all your stuff?”

“I took what I needed. You can scrap the rest, or give it to your new girlfriend.”

“What about the furniture?”

“It’s tainted.”

“Where are you living now?” He asks.

“Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m staying with a friend.”

“Shaw come to your rescue? You guys playing house?” he huffs.

“Shut up, Colin.”

“What? I’m surprised that it took so long,” he sneers suddenly angry.

“What are you talking about?” I clench my jaw.

“Men and women can’t be just friends,” he states so simply.

I roll my eyes. “Good talking to you, have a nice life, Colin.”

I stand up and walk away.

Why did I even bother?
