“I’m sure with her knowing that I’m also hanging out with you and Kady isn’t helping.”

“She can be pissed all she wants about it. She’s not exactly innocent, and she’s dating someone too, she’s just mad that I want a chance at parenting too.”

“Are you still going for half and half?” I ask as we turn into his parking garage.

“I am, which is part of why I brought up kids to you.”

“Oh yeah? You want to knock me up?” I joke as he parks and we get out of the car, walk up to the elevator and get inside with a moments ride to his floor.

“I mean, I wouldn’t mind seeing you pregnant with my baby, but I was serious, when I asked you to move in.” He laughs lightly as he lets us into his place.

“You really think that we’re ready for that?” I ask as he turns to me.

“Sidney, I’m crazy in love with you. This thing between us is the real deal, it’s not something that I don’t want to give my one hundred percent to. But that also means that sometimes, Kady will be here, she is a priority and she will always be important, just as you are important as well. Just in a different way.”

“The second bedroom of your condo?” I ask while we sit on the couch, then he pulls me to sit on his lap.

“Kady’s room. I’ve always envisioned that she would have her own room in any place that I lived, but I would also consider moving to a bigger place, if that would be something that you wanted to do?”

“Moving in together is a major step, you know.” I say.

“It’s a step in the right direction, a step forward.”

“Have you asked Kady about this?” I ask.

“Um, no. But I’m sure that she wouldn’t mind.”

“I think we should make her part of the conversation. I’d be joining in her home, regardless of the status of her room. Let’s include her.”

“And if she says yes?”

“Then maybe I could move in next month or something.” I shrug.

He grabs his phone and turns on the screen.

“What are you doing?” I ask.

“Calling Amelia to talk to Kady, I forgot to say something to her.”

I laugh and pull the phone away from him.

“Let’s sleep on this and maybe you can call her tomorrow.”

“Sid, I wasn’t joking. I want to wake up to you every morning.”

I place my hands on both sides of his face, lean down and gently kiss him before pulling back with a smile.

“I love you and am crazy about you too.” I whisper.

“Does this mean that we can go public at work?”

“Not yet,” I shake my head.

“Not yet? What are we waiting for?” he looks at me.

I don’t answer him, instead I kiss him, putting as much emotion as I can into the kiss, since we just declared our love for one another.
