He laid out everything for me tonight, he told me the timeline of his relationship and the demise of it. From the sounds of it, the only good to come from it was Kady. But of course, I know that there are two sides to every story.
And Kady can make a person fall in love with her in just one meeting.
I am in love with her father, and from what I know of Kady, I could easily love her too. If she would let me and if Quinn would too.
When I get out of the bath, I notice a text on my phone from Quinn.
Q: If you will still have me, I promise to you that there will be no more secrets. I should have remembered that you don’t keep secrets from the ones that you love. Please don’t give up on us.
I smile at his text. I know that he means every word. But my eyes go to one specific part.
Me: You love me?
Q: I do. There’s no denying it.
Should I tell him over text? Do I tell him in person? Can I wait that long?
“I love you too.” I rush out as soon as he answers the line. “I want to be furious with you, and believe me, part of me is still upset about it, but I love you too. There’s no denying that.”
“You have no idea how good it is to hear that. I do, I love you, Sidney and there’s nothing that will make me feel any different.”
“What if I had a third nipple? Or no belly button? Webbed feet? Or a huge gap in my front teeth?” I ask smiling.
“If you had any of those, it would make me love you more, for having something strikingly different about you.” He laughs.
QUINLAN
I knowthat there is a sliver of pain Sidney holds because I wasn’t truthful in my relationship with her. I shouldn’t have kept any secrets from her. I should have known that I needed to tell her something, anything.
I need to rebuild the trust and for that, I need to be completely upfront and honest moving forward.
And to do that, I’m going to start all over again, I am going to date my girlfriend and woo the fuck out of her. Or die trying, because she’s worth it.
