“Okay, she’s cool. Can I have a corn dog?” Kady takes a seat.

Quinn reaches forward, lightly touches my hip, and kisses my cheek before sitting down beside his daughter opposite me at the table. I look between the two of them and notice that she is the spitting image of Quinn.

“So, what are your intentions with my daddy?” Kady asks folding her hands in front of her.

“Maybe we should get some food before you start grilling Sidney,” Quinn tells her, his tone loving with a hint of amusement.

“I just want to make sure that she doesn’t plan to do corruption to you,” she says, her voice innocent as she seeks to gain intel for protecting her father. “I like you just the way you are.”

It’s cute.

“Where are you learning these things?” Quinn laughs.

“Gammy says that when a boy and a girl like each other, sometimes they will do corruption to you,” she replies confidently.

“Well, Kady. I like your daddy a lot. And I have no intentions to do any corruption to him.” I tell her.

“You don’t need to answer her, she knows that grown-ups have business that is between them, just like the kids do.” Quinn says.

Kady looks between the two of us and smiles.

The rest of the meal is comfortable. After everyone eats, Kady plays on the play structure leaving Quinn and I alone.

“She’s cute.” I tell him as I stand and take Kady’s seat beside him.

“Thank you,” he replies.

“You guys look a lot alike.Thank you for letting me meet her.” I tell him.

“Thank you for wanting to meet her. I’m sorry that I hid her from you.”
