Page 52 of His to Win

Shaking the bits of concrete away, Enzo shifts and pulls me onto his lap, dropping kisses all over my face. “Don’t you ever put yourself in danger like that again. Do you hear me?”

“You would’ve done the same thing for me,” I say. In the distance, I hear sirens wail and I finally notice Romeo sitting on the ground not far away, hands and feet bound. Asshole. He’s lucky to still be alive and I’m glad he is because now he can spend a very long time in jail for kidnapping, assault and attempted murder.

“Bri,” Enzo whispers, staring into my eyes, fingers sliding through my hair, “I love you. So damn much.”

My heart soars into the stratosphere at his low words and tears prick my eyes. “I love you, too,” I whisper back then press my lips to his. My world is complete and I have never been more happy or giddy about the future.

Once the police are dealt with and Romeo is taken away in handcuffs, I turn to my brothers. Gabriella is tucked under the crook of my arm and I’m not letting her go anytime soon.

“Thank you,” I murmur looking from Miceli to Vin to Angelo. “If you guys hadn’t shown up…”

“Don’t even say it,” Gabriella murmurs, and I feel a shiver run through her frame.

“That’s what we’re here for,” Vin states. “To keep each other out of trouble and come to the rescue when we get caught in a shit storm.”

“And that was quite the shit storm,” Angelo agrees.

“How did you and Vin know to come?” Gabriella asks Miceli.

“I texted them,” Angelo answers. “And remember how you were supposed to stay outside? What happened to that plan?”

“That was your plan, not mine,” she says, tightening her arms around my waist. “My plan was to save my man no matter what.”

I press a kiss to her head. How can I be mad? Gabriella put herself in danger which doesn’t make me happy, but she loves me. My heart swells at the thought. Besides, I would’ve done the same exact thing if the situation had been reversed. I guess love makes you do crazy things.

Love. Holy shit, I’m in love with Gabriella and she’s in love with me. For the first time, we’re on exactly the same page and it feels so damn good. Although, technically, I think we’ve always been on the same page. We have similar beliefs, values and ethics. We always were on the same page during meetings with the Five Families and consistently backed each other up. We both went after the same company because we recognized its potential. And, I know for a fact that we’re perfectly in sync when we’re in the bedroom.

No doubt about it—Gabriella Bianche is my perfect match. I’m going to marry this woman and spend the rest of my life loving her.

“I owed you,” Miceli tells Gabriella. “After you voted for me to keep my place at the table, I made a vow to repay you.”

“I’ll consider it done,” she says. “Thank you.”

Miceli nods his head then pulls his buzzing phone out of his pocket. “Alessia is blowing my phone up, she’s so worried. Gotta go, boys.”

Before they can leave, I hug each of my brothers hard and we slap each other on the back. Then I turn to Gabriella and press another kiss to her lips. “You’re coming home with me, right?”

“Yes,” she whispers.

Her Hellcat is parked across the street and the ride back to Hudson Yards is quick because it’s the middle of the night. The moment we step into my loft, I kick the door shut, lock it and pull Gabriella into my arms.

“You saved my life,” I say, searching her caramel-colored eyes. “In more ways than you know.”

“I love you, Enzo. I don’t want to be without you. Not ever.”

“You don’t have to, honey,” I assure her. “I’m yours for as long as you’ll have me.”

“I’ll have you forever,” she says and pushes up onto her toes, mouth latching onto mine.

For a long moment, we kiss, tongues meeting and exploring, the heat between us growing hotter. Without a word, we begin undressing each other and once we’re naked, I swoop her up into my arms. Heading over to the stairs, I walk up to the loft and then gently lay her down on my big bed.

I can already tell tonight is going to be different between us because we’ve both said that we love each other. The emotions are higher than ever before, caused by the danger we faced, the loss we barely avoided and the emotions we’ve laid bare.

I’m burning up for this woman who I love more than anything. She wraps her legs around my waist, trying to pull me closer, and we kiss deeply and passionately. I reach a hand down, stroking between her legs, making sure she’s ready, and I find her soaked and eagerly lifting her hips.
