Page 34 of His to Win

“Only you,” he murmurs and kisses me passionately.

When we finally come up for air, he takes my hand and leads me downstairs.

“I’ll drive,” he says.

“Good because I have no idea where we’re going,” I remind him.

It turns out, Enzo drives us to a small, private airport just outside of the city. He pulls up next to a helicopter and I see his younger brother, Angelo.

“I hope you like to fly,” Enzo says, “because Angelo is going to take us on a tour of the city.”

“Are you serious?” I hop out of the car and excitement thrums through me. “I’ve never been on a helicopter before.”

“Gabriella, I’d like for you to officially meet my younger brother, Angelo. Ang, this is Bri.”

There’s no missing his possessive tone and I can’t lie—I love it. I’ve never felt like I belonged to a man before, never wanted to feel that way, but with Enzo it’s different. It’s like he owns a part of me and I own a part of him. It’s an equal feeling. And, a very beautiful one because it’s like we hold each other’s hearts and souls.

Although I’ve seen Angelo at the Five Families meetings, I’ve never officially spoken to him before. “It’s nice to meet you,” I say, and we shake hands.

“You, too.” He gives me a bright-white grin that should be in a toothpaste commercial and nods toward the helicopter. “Alright, kids, let’s hop on this bird and see the sights.”

Enzo reaches for my hand and guides me over. I can’t remember the last time I was this excited and he gives my arm a little shake. “You okay? You seem nervous.”

I blow out a breath. “I am a little nervous.”

“Don’t be. I’ll hold your hand the whole time,” he promises, and my heart constricts.

For some reason, this moment feels like a turning point in our relationship. One I can either run far away from or one I can embrace fully. Perhaps, I should run. Maybe that would be the wisest thing to do.

But, instead, I squeeze his hand and allow him to help me up into the helicopter.

ENZO

The flight over the city is amazing, but nothing can compete with the pure happiness on Gabriella’s face. Knowing I’m the one who put it there brings me more satisfaction than I’ve ever felt from any business deal I’ve ever made. At this moment, our fingers laced, nothing is more important to me. Nothing else matters.

And that’s a damn scary thought.

Somehow, since the moment I first saw her, Gabriella Bianche has bewitched me. Everything about her calls to me and I can’t seem to get enough of her. When we aren’t together, I’m a miserable sonofabitch. But when she’s with me, touching me, smiling at me, I’ve never felt more alive. Saying I’m happy doesn’t even begin to cut it. She awakens my heart and soul in the most beautiful way and I have to figure out how to make the rest of this weekend last forever.

Because one thing is clear—I need Gabriella in my life. Not just today, not just tomorrow. Forever and always. I don’t care if I sound like a sap. Right now I’m not going to think too hard about it. I’m just going to live in the moment and enjoy every second of our weekend together.

Angelo flies us around, chatting through the headphones and pointing out landmarks or other cool things. But, my attention doesn’t linger far from Gabriella for very long. On our way back to the airport, she turns to look at me and, unable to resist, I kiss her long and thoroughly. We’re high in the sky and I’m high on her. It’s an incredible feeling.

After we land and thank Angelo, I can’t get her back in the car fast enough. Time is ticking. It’s Sunday evening and we only promised each other two days. I need to make the most out of it, so I tell her we’re going to my place. My mind is on sex when she mentions she’s hungry.

Ahh, right. Food.

“Want to grab some carryout?” I ask.

“Are you in a hurry, Mr. Rossi?” she teases.

“Yes,” I say bluntly, not even pretending that I haven’t already undressed her half a dozen times in my head. “But, there is a great Mediterranean place near my house, if you’re interested.”

“Ohh, yes. That sounds delicious.”

Plus, it’s quick and easy. Once we get back to my loft, I order us some food to be delivered. It arrives fast and we dive in. I hadn’t realized how hungry I was until we start eating. We’re sitting at the island and it feels so normal. So right. Like something we do together every Sunday evening.
